Robots That Vacuum and Mop

Robots that clean and vacuum offer the convenience of cleaning dry debris and wet mess in one session, without having to switch devices. They also can save space compared to two separate units, especially in smaller living areas.

A good combination bot will provide excellent navigation and obstacle avoidance. Look for models that automatically empty their bins, refill their water tank, and machine-wash their mopping pads from a dedicated dock.

1. Eufy S1 Pro

It has plenty to offer for its modest price and is one of the easiest robots we've tested to install. Unpacking the S1 Pro is simple, and an easy-to-follow guide will have you running with a clean, full dust bag, a hard floor solution and water tank in no time.

The S1 Pro is an incredibly powerful machine that can mop and vacuum well. The mops spin at a high rate and employ 2.2 pounds (1kg of force) to quickly take away pet hair, dirt and sticky dried spills. The vacuum cleaner comes with four power settings, a variety of brushes and attachments as well as an intuitive app which lets you choose the type of cleaning you'd like for each room.

For example, you can opt for the robot to clean up the living and kitchen areas but be careful with the spare bedroom. The S1 Pro's front colision sensors and smart navigation technology are superb as the robot is able to detect tiny obstacles that other models have difficulty overcoming. The only problem is that it tends to hit walls and objects at full speed. However looking at the history of cleaning on the app will reveal precisely what the robot has done, where it is going, and which obstacles it has stumbled upon or avoided.

The docking station comes with a handy LCD screen that shows when maintenance is needed for cleaning up debris and cleaning the dirty water tank. It can also mix detergent into the tank automatically, using a 600ml eufy solution.

Both the S1 Pro mop and best automatic vacuum and mop have a long running time. The mop can operate for 184 mins in Quiet Mode, and the vacuum can last 136 mins in normal mode, before needing to recharge or returning back to the base. The app is simple to use and intuitive that lets you see every aspect of the cleaning.

2. Roborock S8 Pro Ultra

The Roborock S8 Pro Ultra, the latest version of Roborock's flagship robot mop and vacuum, is the newest version. The model of this year features two agitators built into its mopping pad. This enhances the cleaning capabilities of carpets with this model. The S8 Pro Ultra also has an improved suction capacity, allowing it to pull up small hairs and other particles that other robotic cleaners could be unable to pick up.

As with the two other Roborock models I've tried the S8 Pro Ultra has a reactive 3D obstacle avoidance and infrared technology that help it avoid furniture, walls and other obstacles. The S8 Pro Ultra goes one step further by incorporating dual cameras that can detect objects, and determine if they're walls or other surfaces. It then can automatically alter its direction and clean them without missing a beat.

It's the most expensive of the three models I've reviewed but it's also the most feature-packed. Its sleek and angular design is eye-catching and it only has three physical buttons: the power button, which also resumes cleaning; a mop-only button that doubles as a child lock; and a home button to bring the robot back to its dock. The hinged lid can be lifted to reveal a 350ml dust bin and 200ml water tank. The water tank is self-emptying and the bin is auto-filling.

The only drawback I could find in this model was the VibraRise mop pads mount isn't movable. Although you can change the mopping cloth (if needed), it's a pain to remove the mount to wash it manually. I've found that any plush carpet that the robot touches will be in contact with the Velcro-like fastener system on the mount, and that could cause scratches.

The S8 Pro Ultra has a variety of smart features, including support for Google Home, Amazon Alexa and Siri. You can set up and manage these via the Roborock app, which is also home to its maps and advanced mopping settings. The app also allows you to schedule cleanings and monitor battery life and component maintenance. However, you'll have to go through a few hoops in order to enable voice control on this model, which is a shame considering the quality of its performance.

3. Dreame X40

The Dreame X40 robot vacuum and mop is a market leader with innovative features, superior suction power, and advanced mowing capabilities. Its intelligent design allows for customised and efficient cleaning while saving you time.

The X40 robot vacuum cleaner is the first to feature 12,000 Pascals cleaning power. It is among the most powerful options available. This powerful vacuum removes dry mess, including pet hair and crumbs. It also comes with a top-quality mop that makes hard floors spotlessly clean, even with a wet pad. The X40 is also very quiet while in use with only occasional bursts during mode changes or self-maintenance.

Another noteworthy characteristic is the X40's extendable and liftable side brush which lets it get into difficult-to-access corners as well as clean furniture, such as tables and chairs' legs. It also allows the robot to access furniture that is low-profile, making it a great choice for small apartments and condos with limited space. The side brush tilts automatically down when it spots wet spots. This is a wonderful feature that enables the X40 to avoid damaging floors by repeated back-and-forth movements.

Contrary to other robots, which are limited to a single task, the X40 can vacuum and mop at the same time. It can be programmed to only mop the hard floors, and skip carpeted areas, or vice versa. It can be controlled through the Dreame app or by using Alexa, Siri, and Google Home to ensure a smooth voice-controlled operation.

The app is simple and user-friendly and the X40's clever features are a breeze to set up. Users can program the X40 for cleaning at specific times. It is also possible to alter suction power, switch modes, look at floor plans and maps and manage mopping setting. The X40 can also track its progress and notify you when it's done.

The X40 is easy-to-maintain and offers many convenient features, making it a perfect choice for busy families. The docking station automatically empty the dustbin into a huge 3.2 L bin, washes mop pads and refills them with clean water and a cleaning solution. It can also detect when the mop pad is overflowing and alert you before it overflows, thus reducing the necessity for manual maintenance.

4. L20 Ultra

The L20 Ultra robot hoover is one of the most expensive models on the market. However, it has several features that make it stand out. Its mops have a new feature called Smart DuoScrub. It utilizes two mops that are high-speed to clean floors more thoroughly than the standard method, and has the highest suction power of 7,000Pa. This is higher than Roborock S8 Pro Ultra and Ecovacs Deebots T20 Omni. It can also remove pet hair, small dirt particles and remove spills and dirt-stained spots.

The mop mops are cleaned and dried at the base station each time they are used. This is a great feature because it prevents mould and unpleasant odours that can build up in the storage. It also makes the mop system more efficient. This is a feature we've yet to see on other robot vacuums and mop models and could be a good method of keeping your home cleaner for longer.

There's a plethora of options available, including the ability to schedule cleaning and alter a variety of preferences. The app lets you set these preferences or use the buttons on the device itself. The app is easy to use and provides a number of options for customizing your cleaning routine. It also offers several features that aren't offered on other robots, for instance the Clean Genius Mode, which automatically increases suction whenever it detects dust particles.

The L20 Ultra is also one of the most stylish robots we've seen on market, with metallic and white colors that is elegant and stylish. It's heavier than some of the other two-in-1 robots on this list, at 4kg - but it's not obscenely heavy either, and it feels sturdy and well-built. Mopping is well designed and the double-rotating mop is a great choice for hard floors or in corners. The MopExtend feature allows them to reach up to 2mm below baseboards.
