It's still a great option for those who want to save money on a iRobot Roomba and you have a mostly bare-floor home or office. Additionally, it's quiet and can work when you're at work or school. It doesn't have the edge-to-edge floor vacuuming that is available in the more expensive iRobot Roomba X30. It's also less effective when it comes to mopping. It relies on disposable wet wipes that don't stick well and isn't able to handle dried-on debris. The Q5 comes with a self-emptying cradle that can be emptied by itself. If you're in need of it clean the mopping pad, it can be changed for an awe-inspiring one in a matter of seconds.

It comes with advanced features such as Enhanced Dirt Detection and future compatibility (another company's robot that can wash mop pads autonomously).

It's the only robotic mop or vacuum that has 100% in our tests, thanks to a combination of high-tech sensors that include a camera, structured light system, and multiple lasers. The X40 Ultra is also the only robot we tested that can fully self-refill and empty its base station and it boasts the industry's highest suction of 12,000Pa and self-cleaning mop pads.

Like other iRobot models, the X40 is user-friendly, offering an easy mobile app interface and integration with Amazon Alexa, Apple HomeKit and Google Assistant. The only real drawback is that it's still quite loud, which can be an issue if you use it in the morning before work or at night as you try to sleep.

It's also somewhat expensive, although it's not as pricey as the Ecovacs Omni or the Roborock S8 MaxV Ultra, both of which are equally powerful and more attractive. If you're willing to live with a bit more noise and some extra cost it's a powerful two-in-one that will delight most.

4. iRobot Roomba L20 Ultra

The iRobot app is designed to guide you through a mapping run which collects information about your floorplan and any "no go" areas you've marked on the map. It can be used to create cleaning schedules, or to set up the spot-cleaning. You can also use it to prioritize your dirtiest areas to improve performance. The app also gives access to a variety of options, including seasonal suggestions, custom maps, and advanced settings for your cleaning.
