Robot vacuums and mops have become more efficient, passing our tests for cleaning and taking on various floor types. Look for models that allow you to select between several modes, utilize their charging docks to self-empty, and clean up the stairs.

Many of the top models work with your smartphone. Look for an app that lets you save maps, schedules and select cleaning modes.

1. Eufy Omni S1 Pro

The gunmetal and gloss black Omni S1 Pro from Eufy is one of most impressive robot vacuums and mop combinations available. It uses lidar for navigation, creating maps of rooms and floors.

When I tried the S1 It was quick to map our downstairs, which has laminate flooring in the kitchen, dining room and bathrooms, along with medium-pile carpeting and a large area rug. It easily drove close to walls without crashing into them, and was able to cross raised room thresholds with no problem, although it sometimes was unable to navigate down stairs in a single pass. The S1 performed admirably in cleaning hard floors. Its mop drove smoothly on its flat side and swung up when it reached carpets or rug.

The docking station on the S1 automatically empties its trash bin and fills its water tank onboard with clean, ozonated water prior to every mopping session. The dock also provides an extra-deep cleaning solution to the water. The S1's water tank can hold enough for about twelve cleaning sessions before it needs to be cleaned, although this will vary depending on how much you use the mop.

Like all 2-in-1 robots, the S1 requires regular maintenance to ensure that it's operating well. In order to do this, you'll have to rinse out the water tank that is dirty regularly to avoid it from clogging. You will also need to clean your swivel wheel and sensors regularly to avoid them becoming clogged up with dust or dirt. Overall the S1 requires less maintenance than other combos.

2. Ecovacs Deebot X2 Combo Complete

Ecovacs all-in-one robot vacuum and mop is an effective solution for your cleaning requirements. The robot vacuum is rated at 8700Pa of suction and comes with a number of innovative features, including full home mapping, voice control and smart path-planning to avoid obstacles and cleans around furniture. Its mopping ability is impressive. Rotating mop heads actually lift the floor and scrub it, rather than just dragging a pad across the surface. The mops are cleaned and dried in the base station as needed.

This robot combo is easy to set up and use, with a clear interface that walks you through the procedure. It also comes with a hand-vacuum that can be utilized to clean those difficult to reach areas that the robot cannot reach. There are also two water tanks which are automatically emptied or refilled. It also comes with a variety of useful settings for fine-tuning your cleaning preferences.

The Deebot X2 Combo Complete is a good vacuum cleaner. It has a strong suction that is able to easily remove dirt and other debris that other robots have difficulty with. Its navigation capabilities are decent, but it could get stuck on small area mats and rugs in my home (which you can alleviate by creating virtual boundaries in the app). The mopping capabilities are quite impressive, and comes with two spinning mop pads that actually lift and scrub the floors instead of simply dragging the pad over it. The mops are cleaned using heated water and dried in the base station when required. The mops are also refilled from the top of the base station when required.

3. Dreame X40 ultra

Dreame's X30 Ultra robot vacuum and mop was launched earlier this year. But their new flagship model comes with even more impressive features. It has outstanding cleaning performance and hands-free maintenance making it a top contender for our best robot vacuum and mop list. Its superior mapping abilities, RGB AI smart detection, and an expanded side brush will ensure an effective, customized cleaning robot mop and vacuum is completed.

The X40 Ultra does an excellent job of vacuuming, picking up large and fine particles from both hard floors and carpets. It also cleaned the dirtiest areas well, keeping pet hairs from getting caught in knots and other mess. The sweeping power is enhanced by a side brush that automatically extends to reach hard-to-reach corners, as well as an extended mop pad that is placed along baseboards.

Its navigation system is nimble, navigating tiny spaces and negotiating stairs without stepping back. It can easily move from one room to another without reversing direction it is a useful feature for larger homes with multiple rooms. Its obstacle avoidance system is less advanced than that of some competitors and leaves a large space over obstacles. This can result in missed spots.

Its app has a streamlined, intuitive interface that should be easy for both novice and experienced users. 4. Roomba Q5 Pro

Robot vacuums are excellent at picking up dirt and debris, but they aren't able to reach every bit of dust. It is important to clean frequently, every week. This is especially true for dust that accumulates in corners, on shelves, and in the crevices of your couch. Roborock's Q5 Pro is a 2-in-1 vacuum and mop robot that was designed to accomplish exactly that. It is easy to connect to your home WiFI network and it works with Alexa or Apple Siri.

The Q5 is a stripped-down version of the more expensive models in the S-series from the company, including the top-of-the-line Roborock S8 maxV ultra. It is equipped with the same LIDAR mapping sensors, however it's cheaper since it doesn't have mopping capabilities, and also has a plastic body.

Despite losing the ability to mop floors, the Q5 still has some of the best mopping and vacuum performance we've seen on a robot at this price. It's got a powerful suction power of 5500Pa and an auto vacuum and mop-empty system, so you don't have to manually empty the bin every time. It also features a smart app that lets you set your floor type and schedule cleanings, and an automatic vacuum and mop refill of the water tank and wash system to allow hands-free operation.

Its mops are also impressive with its 2700Pa capacity to take on pet hair and dirt on carpets and hard flooring. The Q5 is among the few robots we tested that didn't have any problems with carpets with high piles or area rug, but it was unable to pick up cat litter or cable tangles that's not a surprise given that it doesn't have AI-powered obstacle avoidance.

5. K10 Plus

K10 Plus is the quietest robotic vacuum we've ever tested. It also features an innovative mapping system that helps it reach tight spaces and corners that other vacuums are unable to. It also stores dust in a larger bin which means you need to empty it less often. It also has washable filters which reduces the cost. This robot can detect carpets, and boost suction when needed. The app also lets you to mark areas you want to stay clear of, which is a nice feature.
