The device is connected to the vehicles CAN Data Network (similar to an Ethernet cable) and a personal PIN code is embedded into it. The pin code has to be selected before the vehicle starts. This prevents thieves from using a cloned key or replacing the ECU to disable this system.

If the vehicle is stolen in any way, the Ghost will enter a security mode and shut down all functions unless the PIN code is entered or you make use of the mobile app to disable it.
