There is currently a national shortage of medication to treat ADHD symptoms. This is due to manufacturing issues and a growing global demand.

Our service is private ADHD adjustment instead of waiting for NHS funding via Right to Choose. Our assessments are free and include the cost of one prescription.

Titration

Following your assessment you will be advised whether medication may be beneficial for your situation. If you decide to go back to NHS treatment, you will receive an individual prescription for your medication. You will be required to pay for your prescription at the pharmacy. This is not included in the consultation cost. You will be required to attend every six months to check your medication, which includes blood pressure and pulse readings. Annual reviews are also required.

Follow-up appointments

Once the assessment is completed and you are satisfied, you can schedule follow-up appointments with your psychiatrist. The appointment is usually done through a zoom video call. At this point we will discuss any treatment options we have and come up with a unique ADHD medication titration plan. This is due to the fact that ADHD can be a genetic condition and it is important to examine any family history that may suggest that you are at risk of developing the disorder.

It is crucial that you are honest and truthful with your doctor during the assessment, since the information they gather will be used to determine if your ADHD is in line with the diagnostic criteria. This is an important step, as an incorrect diagnosis could lead to inappropriate medication prescription.

If you've decided that you'd like to be treated for your ADHD, we will then schedule a follow-up appointment with one of our psychiatrists that specialize in this field. If you want to start treatment right away, you can do this immediately following the diagnosis. Or you can wait two weeks to think about the implications of the diagnosis and the options available to you.

If you are unsure of what is titration adhd your preference is it is recommended that you speak to your GP prior to booking your private examination as some providers have different rules regarding whether they require a GP referral letter or not. We also suggest to check if your GP accepts a "Shared Care Agreement', which means that after you have been discharged from the clinic you will be referred back to them for the prescription for the medication.

Medication

If you are on a titration medication, it is likely to include a mix of non-stimulant and stimulant medications. These will be thoroughly examined and monitored to determine the most suitable combination for you. The process of titration can be lengthy and may need some additional appointments before you're able to stay on your dose.

The frequency of your follow-up appointments will depend on the type and amount of medication you're taking. They can be monthly or quarterly. Your clinician will check that you are stable with the medication, document any side effects you have experienced and make any needed adjustments to ensure that you remain on a dose that is safe. You will be required to attend an annual review as well as a routine health exam that includes blood pressure, pulse, and weight measurements.

For some people it could be because they are content with their medication and don't require an additional discussion regarding their titration. If you're required to discuss your Titration Period Adhd plan or treatment plan further it is possible that you will be referred back to the private clinic who performed your initial assessment.
