Robots that vacuum and mop provide the convenience of removing dry debris (dust dirt, grit) and wet mess (spills and staining) in one go without the need to switch out devices. They can also help save storage space compared to having two separate units, especially in smaller living spaces.

A good combination bot must be able to navigate well and have excellent obstacles avoidance. Find models that automatically empty their bin and fill up their water tank, and wash their mopping pads from an appropriate dock.

1. Eufy S1 Pro

It's one of the simplest robots to set up that we've ever tested. Unpacking the S1 Pro is simple, and the quick-start guide will get you up and running with a clean and complete dust bag, hard floor solution and water tank in a matter of minutes.

The S1 Pro is a powerful little machine that is able to clean up a storm and also vacuums well. The mops are spun at a high rate and employ 2.2 pounds (1kg of force) to quickly take away pet hair, dirt and sticky dried spills. The best automatic vacuum and mop has four power modes, a selection of attachments and brushes, and a user-friendly application that lets you select the type of cleaning you'd like to have for each room.

For example, you can opt for the robot to clean up the living and kitchen areas but go easy on the spare bedroom. The S1 Pro's front collision sensors and smart navigation technology are also excellent, with the robot cleaner being capable of detecting tiny obstacles that other models struggle with. The only drawback is that it is known to smash into walls and objects at full speed. However looking at the cleaning history on the app will tell you precisely what the robot has accomplished, where it's traveling, and what obstacles he has run into or avoided.

The docking station has an LCD display that displays the time when maintenance is required for cleaning up debris and rinsing the dirty water tank. It also mixes detergent into the tank automatically, using a 600ml eufy solution.

Both the S1 Pro mop and vacuum have a long run time. The mop can run for 184 minutes in Quiet Mode. The vacuum can run for 136 minutes in standard mode, before needing recharging or returning to the base. 2. Roborock S8 Pro Ultra

The Roborock S8 Pro Ultra, the latest version of Roborock's flagship robot cleaner with mop vacuum and mop is the newest version. It's not like the model from last year this one has an agitator that doubles in its mopping pad which greatly improves carpet cleaning capabilities. The S8 Pro Ultra also has enhanced suction power, which allows it to pull up small hairs and other particles that other robotic cleaners may miss.

The Roborock model, like the other two I tried it has infrared and a reactive 3D obstacle avoidance technology that helps it avoid obstacles such as walls, Robots that vacuum and mop furniture and other obstacles. But the S8 Pro Ultra takes things an extra step by having a dual camera that can detect objects and decide whether they are a wall or another surface. It can then change its direction automatically and clean around the objects, without missing a step.

It's the most expensive model I've tried however it also comes with the most features. Its sleek and angular design is striking and has just three physical buttons which include the power button that also resumes cleaning; a mop button that doubles as a child lock; and a home button that can return the robot to its dock. Lifting the hinged lid, you will find 350ml of dust bin and 200ml water tank. The water tank will empty itself and the bin auto-refilling.

The only drawback I could find in this model was the VibraRise mop pads mount isn't movable. You can replace the mopping cloth if required, but it's not easy to take the mount off for washing manually. I've found that any plush carpet the robot crosses will be in contact with the rough Velcro-like fastener mechanism on the mount, which can cause scratches.

The S8 Pro Ultra is equipped with a variety of intelligent features including support for Google Home and Amazon Alexa. The Roborock app is where you can manage and set up these features. It also includes maps and advanced mopping options. The app allows you to schedule cleanings and monitor battery life. However, you'll have to go through a few hurdles to enable voice control with this model which is unfortunate considering the performance of this model.

3. Dreame X40

The Dreame X40 is an industry-leading robot vacuum and mop with exceptional suction power, advanced mowing capabilities, and innovative features. Its intelligent design allows users to tailor and effectively clean while saving time.

The X40 robot vacuum cleaner is the first one to provide 12,000 Pascals cleaning power. It is one of the most powerful choices available. This powerful vacuum can clean up pet hair dust, crumbs and any other dry debris. It has a mop of excellent quality that can clean hard floors without the use of pads. The X40 is also very quiet when in operation, with only occasional bursts during mode changes or self-maintenance.

Another standout feature is the X40's expandable and liftable side brush which allows it to get into hard-to-reach corners and intimately clean furniture such as table and chair legs. It also lets the robot to get under furniture that is low-profile which makes it a great option for apartments or condominiums with small spaces. The side brush automatically lowers itself when it spots wet spots, which is a nice addition that assists the X40 keep floors safe from damage caused by excessive back-and-forth movements.

In contrast to other robots that solely focus on one task, the X40 is capable of performing mopping and vacuuming simultaneously or in a series. It can also be programmed to avoid areas with carpets and mop only hard floors, or vice versa. It can be controlled via the Dreame App or Alexa, Siri, or Google Home to ensure smooth voice-controlled operations.

The app is simple to use and understand, and the X40 has many smart features that are simple to set up. Users can program the X40 to clean at certain times. They can also adjust suction power, change modes, view floor plans and maps and manage mopping settings. The X40 can also monitor its progress and notify you when it's finished.

The X40 is easy to maintain and has many features that make it a great choice for busy families. The docking station automatically empty the dustbin into a large 3.2 L bin, cleans the mop pads, and refills them with clean water and cleaning solution. It will also tell you if the mop pad is at its maximum capacity and alert you to the situation before it overflows.

4. L20 Ultra

The L20 Ultra is a high-end robot that's one of the most expensive on the market and comes with numerous extra features that distinguish it from. Smart DuoScrub, which is a new feature in its mop, utilizes two mop heads with high-speed motors to scrub floors more thoroughly. It also has a maximum suction force of 7,000Pa. This is much higher than that of the Roborock S8 Pro Ultra or Ecovacs Deebot T20 Omni and can remove pet hair and smaller dirt particles and also pick up spills and wet spots.

The mop is also cleaned and dried inside the base station after every use. This is a great feature as it keeps mould and unpleasant odours from accumulating in storage. It also makes the mop system more efficient. This is an option we haven't seen before on other robot mop or vacuum models. It could be a great method to keep your home clean longer.

There are a lot of options, including the ability to schedule cleaning times and adjust preferences. The app allows you to define these preferences, or you can make use of the buttons on the device itself. The app is easy to use and offers a variety of options for customising your cleaning routine. It also comes with several features that aren't available on other robots, such as the Clean Genius Mode, which automatically increases suction whenever it detects dust particles.

The L20 Ultra has a stylish design that has a white-and-metallic look that looks elegant and sophisticated. It's a bit heavier than the other two-in-one robots on this list, at 4kg but it's not too heavy, and feels sturdy and well-built. The mopping system is also well-designed and the double-rotating mop is a great choice for hard floors or in corners. They can also extend up to 2mm baseboards thanks to the MopExtend feature which is a nice touch.
