Best Lightweight Single Stroller

Travel strollers aren't any lighter or more compact than this. Its sleek design makes it easy to fold into a neat rectangular shape and the wheels rotate more smoothly than other designs.

It also has an under-seat storage area as well as a shoulder carry strap that makes it easy to carry around if you're not pushing it. But the canopy adjustment can cause quite a bit of noise, which might disturb a sleeping toddler.

1. Contours Itsy

A compact stroller that is also a compact stroller, the Contours Itsy offers lots of features for its small size. Its back under-seat basket is spring loaded, which means you can pull it down to stuff bags for diapers or backpacks in and it will pop up to secure the contents. It comes with a child's accessory holder and an adjustable reclining seat pad. This is more than you would see on a typical light single stroller sale.

In addition, it has a great canopy that can open and close to give you the level of sun protection you need, and the handlebar is adjustable in height four positions for a comfortable fit. We weren't too impressed by its ride quality over rough surfaces. We felt that the suspension and wheels did not do a good job of absorbing shocks and bumps.

It's a perfect stroller for traveling because it comes in a box that is fully assembled and requires only few steps to get it in use. The seat can be moved back and forward to adjust the recline. It's quite flat. Two buttons on the frame allow it to fold and unfold. It can be tucked away in the most convenient carrying bag when not in use. In fact, it's one of the smallest strollers we tested, and it meets most airlines' requirements for gate-checking and cabin storage on airplanes. Check with your airline to determine whether there are any restrictions before you fly. 2. Kolcraft Cloud Plus

This is an excellent option for those looking for a lightweight travel stroller. It comes with everything parents want in a stroller, including all-terrain wheels and front suspension to ensure a smooth ride. It's also extremely light at less than 12 pounds. It folds in one hand and stand up on its own. It also comes with a child tray and parent tray, each with two cup holders.

Its quality, though it is at the lower end and it did not fare well in our maneuverability tests. It also features a flexible frame which makes pushing it over rough surfaces seem like lifting a huge weight. It might be okay if you use the stroller only on paved sidewalks. However, for the majority of people it is not comfortable.

The Cloud Plus has a three-tier extended canopy as well as a peek-a-boo window for additional sun protection. The seat is multi-position and can hold children up to 50 pounds and uses a five-point safety restraint. This is a fantastic feature for older toddlers who have outgrown their infant car seats.

It's small and folds down in one step. It can be folded by pressing an appropriate button. It also comes with a brake that is triggered by the foot and easy to adjust and release.

However the handle is lower than many of the other strollers we've tested, and some parents might be uncomfortable for long periods of time. It does come with a handle lock to keep it in place when open however. This is a good feature to have if you are planning to use the stroller on uneven or gravelly terrain.

3. Munchkin Sparrow

The Munchkin Sparrow stroller is the ideal travel stroller for parents who are constantly on the move. The single stroller with standing board is compact and can be folded up and down with ease and can be tucked away in the overhead compartments on planes or trunks at amusement parks (no need to fret about parking fees). It is also equipped with a simple-zip carrying bag for easy storage. It is able to be used from birth using the infant car seat adapter, and provides plenty of sun protection with its canopy (though not as much as the Nuna TRVL or Uppababy Minu V2). The only drawback is that some parents find the style to be utilitarian and cheap.

The BabyZen Yoyo+ is a little more expensive than other single pushchairs strollers with lightweights however, it was created specifically for luxurious travel and urban living. It is among the easiest strollers to fold and comes with a handy carry case. It's got plenty of storage space as well as a cupholder. The seat is comfortable for both the child and the adult, and it reclines to a nearly flat position. This is the only stroller that can be used with infants with the car seat adapter. The handlebar cannot be adjusted, and may be an issue for parents who are short.

The UPPAbaby Minu V2 isn't the lightest stroller on our list, but it offers many great features that make traveling with kids easier. The spacious seat reclines into a flat position, and it comes with additional padding to make those airplane naps more comfortable. The canopy that extends can provide good sun protection, and the tray is spacious with plenty of storage. It also has an adjustable footrest that can double as a handle when it's folded. The footrest, however, seems vulnerable to damage from baggage handlers.

4. Uppababy Minu V2

Uppababy Minu V2 is a stylish stroller with high-end design and quality. Its compact size makes it easy to maneuver narrow sidewalks and tight spaces, however its robust construction means it can handle rough terrain without compromising the comfort of your child. The spring-action suspension in the front and rear creates an even more comfortable ride and its durable materials ensure that it will endure the wear and tear of daily use. It can also be expanded to accommodate other accessories, such as an infant car seat.

Even with a baby in the mix, the Minu was very easy to fold and move around. Its squat fold, which splits into three parts was among the easiest we tested. This makes it possible to fit easily in overhead compartments in planes and on public transport. It also comes with an automated brake with a color coded single travel stroller-action that's simple to use.

The seat reclines in various positions and the leg rest can be adjusted with one hand, making it simple to find your child's perfect position. The UPF 50+ canopy can be lowered quite a bit to protect Cora's face from sun. There's also a medium-sized mesh peek-aboo window which closes magnetically, and is glued to the canopy rather than using noisy Velcro.

With a weight of just under 15 pounds at just under 15 pounds, the Minu is light enough to carry thanks to its built-in carry handle and shoulder strap. It can be put in the trunk of your car and comes with a storage container and Uppababy TravelSafe, which extends the manufacturer's warranty by two years and provides repairs if the item is damaged during air travel.

5. Joovy Aire

Joovy is an established brand that makes various strollers. This light-weight model is a good choice for parents looking for an all-purpose stroller that can carry children around, provides ample storage, is fairly easy to move around and doesn't require a high engineering degree to fold. It's not the ideal choice when you're looking for an automobile seat-compatible model or a double stroller. It isn't compatible with infant car seats. Your children must be able sit up on their backs before you can use it.

This stroller is brimming with features and is offered at a price that is very reasonable. It earned a higher score in our maneuverability review than other strollers with similar specs, and it's a great option for smooth pavements. It also comes with a great canopy and plenty of storage, including a large tray for parents. The handlebar is smaller than average and the front wheel suspension is stiffer but it's still comfortable for adults.

If you have twins, or two children of different in age, you might consider a side-by-side stroller the best option to take them around. Our favorite is the Joovy Twin Groove, which offers plenty of features and a small footprint that can be used where most other side-by-side alternatives won't.

It has a huge canopy, with a peek-aboo window and plenty of storage. It's heavier than other side-by-sides however it has a good capacity and weight limit. It can carry the majority of children up to 50 pounds. It's possible to add a bassinet to the front of the stroller to accommodate newborns.

The Caboose RS Sit and Stand Stroller is an elegant version of the stroller. It has the same fantastic features and can be fitted out with a bassinet so you can take your baby home in style after leaving the hospital.
