WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader

Upgrades give a guaranteed boost to specific stats. Each upgrade boosts the level of an item by 3. A random substat is also added to each upgrade.

Upgraded gear is generally more valuable, unless the item is not required by nature (like FB sorc shields) or has a high variance in stats (like Eth Titan weapons). Upgrades are not as important for the latter because of the requirement to roll the perfect version.

Recycle Points

The item upgrader lets players upgrade their gear by transferring the currency to an NPC. Upgrades can be applied on any type of armor or weapons. However, the item used to upgrade will be consumed forever and can't be used again. Upgrades can be applied to enchantments.

The upgrader is located in every major city, and can be accessed anytime to upgrade your gear. It is recommended that you visit the upgrader every few weeks to ensure that your equipment is up to date.

The cost of upgrades will be based on the current level of the item being upgraded, but will always be less expensive than purchasing new equipment from other sources. Upgrades like upgrading a Benthic chest up to the level of ilvl385 will cost you 20 recycle points. If you purchase a similar item, it will cost you 105.

Valorstones

Upgrades are functional items that can be used to level up weapons and tools, armor and accessories. Players can purchase them from item upgrader mod upgraders NPCs for various currencies. They are also available on random treasure lists. Once purchased, an upgrade is able to be applied to any weapon, tool, or armor. button, which will show an image of the item at its next upgrade level when the player has enough materials.

The cost of upgrading varies based on the slot for the item and the current item level. For example weapons cost more than gloves, bracers, or bracers. Each upgrade costs 15 Flightstones and a variety of crests, with some upgrades offering discounts to lower the cost of Flightstones or the crests used. Once an item level upgrade (click through the next article) is upgraded to a certain amount it is able to be degraded and sold back to the upgrader for a lower amount of the two currency types.

A lot of locations offer upgraders for items which include the main island and some outposts. The NPCs provide both an upgrade coupon as well as the chance to obtain an entirely new recipe. The discount for upgrades increases with the number of items that are being upgraded. It is also possible to be boosted by requiring players to complete specific achievements or quests.

Icewind Dale does not have an upgrader for items at the beginning unlike Cromwell from Baldur's Gate II. The NPCs who can facilitate upgrades are only available through a variety means. This is both a positive and an issue.

In Season 3, several new features have been added to the upgrade system. Once a player has upgraded to a certain level of item for an armor slot, upgrading other items to the same item level will cost less. This applies even if the items are from an entirely different set of equipment.

The discount is available to all accounts. In the same way, the amount of Harbinger Crests needed to upgrade is also reduced and is not available until players achieve certain milestones in their achievements.

Crests

When it comes to upgrading gear in WoW, players have a few options. Flightstones are an option that is accessible to all players for upgrading. Crests are more specific, and are used during specific item level upgrades. Crests are an important part of the Dragonflight Gear Progression System that was introduced in version 10.1. They are available in four ranks.

First, you must be aware that crests are only available for equipment of a certain rank. Each rank comes with an upgrade path that is different. The simplest and easiest upgrade item costs 15 crests. The most complicated upgrade could require as much as 20 crests, depending on the kind of equipment being upgraded.

Players can earn crests through completing content of the appropriate level, which means walking around and doing outdoor activities to get lower-tier gear, raids or dungeons with all difficulty for items of higher tier, or Mythic+ heroic raid bosses or dungeons for gear that is used in the endgame. Crests can be exchanged at an upgrader NPC, such as Cuzolth in Dornogal, or Vaskarn in Valdrakken to obtain the appropriate upgrade routes and steps.

The use of these currencies isn't that difficult, but the system introduces some changes to the overall upgrade process. For example, once a piece of equipment reaches the highest level of upgrade for any rank (Explorer, Adventurer, Veteran, Champion, Hero, or Mythic), it won't need Flightstones to be upgraded. This change lets players upgrade item their gear to the highest possible level for all their characters instead of relying on seasonal loot.

It's also essential to use crests wisely, as they only have one use. It is best to put your Whelpling-rank Crests on the highest-quality gear you can find, and keep Drake and Wyrm Crests to be used for the next set of upgrades. This is especially applicable to items like trinkets and rings that take up multiple slots. The discount for the entire account will only apply when all slots on the character are filled with top-quality equipment.
