3 Wheeled Buggies

A 3-wheel buggy is great for off-roading and tackling terrain, from bumpy pavements to woodland tracks. They are also more easy to maneuver around kerbs than models with four wheels.

Stability

With four wheels and a center of gravity that's balanced by the weight of your child in the seat, buggies with four wheels are generally thought to be more stable than triwheelers. But that doesn't mean that a three-wheel buggy isn't worth considering, as the majority of them are built to withstand everything from rough terrain to busy high streets.

Choose a buggy that has large rear wheels, as well as a lockable wheel on the front. This will make it more comfortable to drive and less likely to fall off when driving on bumpy roads. Manoeuvrability

Three-wheeled buggies can be more maneuverable than four-wheeled strollers. They typically have a swivelling wheel on the front that lets you change direction quickly and steer with just one hand. Some models also come with a lockable front wheels which gives you the stability you need on rough terrain. Some models can be used with an additional buggy or seat, should you decide to grow your family.

If you're planning to take your three-wheeled bike off the tracks that are paved, it's worth choosing one with air-filled tyres (also known as pneumatic tyres) which are able to withstand the most challenging terrain. These tyres may need to be regularly pumped up from time the point, but they will be more durable and puncture-proof compared to solid tyres. Choose a model that has a an adjustable swivelling front wheel that locks to help you negotiate tricky surfaces.

Having a single front wheel could be a reason that three-wheelers tend to be more bulkier than buggies with four wheels when folded. Make sure the model you select fits in your car's boot and can be placed upright if needed. Some models are able to fold in one hand and stand on their own when collapsed, which can make them more compact in smaller car boots.

A well-constructed three-wheeled pushchair can take on any terrain from busy roads to forest tracks. But it's important to consider what you'll be using it for in the daytime. If you will be making the school run using it, it should be able handle the kerbs and steep slopes. If you'll be jogging with it, check that it has an adjustable lockable swivelling'stretch' for the front wheel to ensure that the ride is stable.

Kath who is an MFM reviewer, found that her stroller on three wheeled buggies wheels was able to take on urban and walks in the countryside.
