If you're on a tight budget and don't need a stroller that can double into car seat carriers the Babyzen Yoyo is a good choice. It has a simple, one-step foot brake that's flip-flop friendly.

It's also easy to push and feels sturdy when navigating kerbs or woodland pathways. It's also a breeze to fold.

1. Babyzen YOYO2

The Babyzen YOYO2 has earned itself a reputation as the ultimate lightweight buggy for city dwellers and jet-setters alike, due to its nimble maneuverability and fold that fits in the overhead luggage of an aeroplane. The latest version has independent suspension on all 4 wheels constructed of Hytrel elastomer, allowing it to perfectly navigate all terrains and types'.

The base YOYO2 frame along with the curved fabric bassinet and the 6+ month color pack combine to form a stylish pushchair that is easy on the eye and has a subtle but elegant design and stylish branding. The frame itself weighs less than a kilo and is so light that you can lift it directly from the box (and do it using one hand).

The hood, for instance, snaps on the YOYO2 with a reassuring way. It is also machine washable up to 30 degrees, which helps to prevent staining caused by smushed and mashed rice cakes and carrot puffs. It can be used as a pram starting from birth using the Newborn Pack or bassinet, or converted to a stroller after 6 months old by clicking on the YOYO Connect additional chassis.

2. Evenflo Pivot Xplore

The Evenflo Pivot Xplore is a fantastic choice for parents who want an adaptable single stroller with standing board wagon. The Evenflo Pivot Xplore can be transformed from a stroller to a wagon by simply flipping the handle. Parents can then decide which one is the best fit for their journey. The wagon can fit two or more children between 6 months to 5 years old. It has a large storage basket that will hold everything you need on the go.

The Xplore has dual canopies which are able to rotate from front to back, ensuring adequate sun protection for the entire family. It has a smaller footwell than some wagons. This may not be suitable for long trips or napping.

The frame of the Xplore feels sturdy and solid but it doesn't have as much flexibility as other wagons we have tested. It is also more difficult than other wagons to fold, and does not lock tightly after folding. It is easy to move, though, and it can be able to fit through narrow 28-inch doors.

3. Delta Children LX Side-by-Side

This Delta Children bare-bones travel stroller is a great choice for parents looking for a secondary stroller that's priced reasonably. It scored highly in our Strollers and Multiples Test for its weight and folded dimensions. This means it's lightweight and compact when folded and easy to lift and store in a trunk of a car. It also offers a multi-position reclining seat and an adult cup holder. Other key features include 360-degree shock absorbing front wheels as well as two large hanging storage bags.

It did better in our push and turn test than many of the strollers we tested, but it is nonetheless difficult to maneuver on uneven terrain or through narrow doors. Its sunshades were among the tiniest of strollers we tested. They only cover the top and do not feature peekaboo windows. The UPPAbaby G-Link 2 has a significantly larger canopy.

The Delta took us just under 3 minutes to put together with an average manual and all of the components required tools. However, it is missing certain essential features that we think it is important to consider as non-negotiable features for a double stroller such as an extra-large basket and reclining seats with adjustable leg rests.

The Zelia is Maxi-Cosi's latest pushchair, and is advertised as an urban travel system. It is designed to carry infants from birth until around 3.5 years old, and can be converted between a seat and a carrycot with only a few clicks. It is compatible with Maxi Cosi capsule car seats. It comes with a lightweight Mico 30 infant seat, a car-base that stays in the car and a reversible car seat.

The seat can be reclined using one hand, and the large shopping basket makes it easy for parents to help their child in and out. The narrow pushchair sailed through every day bumps and doors easily.

The front wheels can to be locked in a forward-facing position, or they can pivot. This is helpful when navigating rough terrain. We allowed the front wheels to rotate while walking along a stony path. It was able to handle this well, though it did seem a little rougher.

5. Baby Jogger City Tour 2

Baby Jogger is best known for its 3-wheeled, all-terrain jogging strollers. However, they also make a broad variety of pushchairs that have four wheels. The City Tour 2 is one of their most loved models. It is easy to use and folds up small enough to fit into a car boot even with the carrycot attached.

It's a bit heavier than other strollers that we tried, but the wheels are a rubber composite, which makes it feel well-built and sturdy. It is easy to maneuver on different terrains and even with two kids, a shopping bag and other items.

The carrycot and the seat both have hoods with pull-down UV50+ sun canopy extensions. They are showerproof and sturdy, unlike some other prams' hoods which get whipped back into toddlers faces.

It's not a lot of storage space, but it comes with an ample basket that is deep enough to hold a change bag or plenty of groceries. It can also be connected with the Baby Jogger infant car seat to create a travel system for babies as big as 20 pounds (car seat and adapters sold separately). If you require a stroller that can be used on the road, the City Tour 2 is an excellent choice.

6. Nuna Mixx Next

When the Nuna Mixx first rolled onto the scene, it instantly captured the hearts of parents all over the world. It's a frame made of aluminum that will be with you throughout your baby's first years and beyond. It has many standout features, including the capacity of the seat to be flipped between the parent and the world and a huge UPF50+ canopy with an eye shade that flips out, and an adjustable handlebar.

The chassis comes with a built-in suspension system that helps reduce the impact of bumpy terrain. The wheels are made of tough foam, which reduces punctures. Our tester found it smooth to push and was able to maneuver it through tight streets with ease.

It folds in just four steps, and locks automatically without fuss. It also stands and can be trolleyed for easier transport in the trunk of your car or down the stairs at home. The travel system comes available with the option of adding an additional car seat or carrycot using the adaptors included. The brakes come with one action and are colour coded. They also work with flip-flops.

7. Babyzen Duet

This budget-friendly single pushchair with buggy board is simple to operate and features a great dual suspension. It can be folded by one hand and comes with a handy carrying strap. It is also lightweight and durable. The seat can be reclined into many different positions. It also has a double-breathable mattress that is suitable for babies.

The canopy/seat comes with two large fixed or flip-out sun visors. Both are UPF50+. However the toggle closure isn't great because it's not as quiet as Velcro and can wake sleepy babies.

The Duet is an angled stroller that can accommodate twins or siblings. (Up to 22kg per seat). It is compatible with two infant car seats and some carrycots. In twin mode, the seats can be positioned to face each other or can be turned around to face parents, theoretically decreasing sibling fights over who should sit with dad and mom. It comes with a big tray for gears, a bottle holder and snack tray. It also comes with a compact stand fold, and an automatic frame lock.

8. Baby Jogger Urban Glide 2.

The Thule Urban glide 2 is the ideal jogger for parents that like to be active. It's among the lightest running strollers that you can get for your child and offers excellent safety features such as a 5-point harness as well as a safety wrist strap. It also comes with a twist hand brake that's different from the lever type found on competing models.

The seat is comfortable and has a wide area to sit in, but the depth of the seat is less than other joggers we've tried (it's about 10"). The storage bin is covered with a zipper to keep things safe. It can hold up to 10 pounds., which is sufficient for the majority of diaper bags.

The Urban Glide 2 isn't compatible with bassinets or infant car seats in the way it is, however you can use it from day one by purchasing adapters for most seats by brands like BOB, Graco, Combi, Evenflo, Britax, and UPPAbaby. It is easy to fold and put together in just 5-10 minutes with no tools. The manual is easy-to-understand and is available in multiple languages.
