It can drive close to walls without crashing, and avoiding steps, and it can also raise its mop when driving over rugs or carpets with a short pile. However, it struggled with longer-pile carpets and large, thick messes of dried-on debris.

The S1 Pro is ready to start right from the moment you purchase it, and it requires only a quick mapping run to learn about your home. Once it's done the map is displayed in the app and rooms can be added or combined when needed. You can set virtual boundaries, as well as no-go or no-mop zones if there's something you do not want the robot cleaner to get into.
