A good combination bot must have impressive navigation and obstacles avoidance. Look for models that have docks that allow them to automatically empty their bins, refill their water tanks and wash the mopping pads.

1. Eufy S1 Pro

It has a lot to offer for its low cost, and it's among the easiest robots we've tested to set up. Unpacking the S1 Pro is simple, and an easy-to-follow guide will have you up and running with a clean, full dust bag, a hard floor solution and water tank in a matter of minutes.

The S1 Pro is an incredibly powerful machine that can mop and vacuum well. The mops are spun at a high rate and employ 2.2 pounds (1kg of force) to take away pet hair, dirt and sticky dried spills. The vacuum cleaner comes with four power settings, a variety of brushes and attachments as well as an intuitive app which lets you choose the type of cleaning you'd like to do for each room.

For instance, you can opt for the robot to take care of a thorough clean-up in the living and robot vacuum and mop kitchen but take it easy in the spare bedroom. The S1 Pro has excellent front collision sensors and smart navigation technology. It is able to detect small obstacles that other models are unable to. Its only minor issue is that it tends to hit objects and walls at full speed - but just a glance at the history of cleaning in the app will tell you exactly what it's doing and where it's headed and the obstacles it's run into or avoided.

A handy LCD screen on the docking station shows the maintenance tasks that must be completed including emptying the debris tray and washing the water tank that is dirty. It's also capable of mixing detergent automatically into the water tank, by using a 600ml bottle filled with the eufy's solution.

Both the S1 Pro vacuum and mop have plenty of run-time as well, with the mop being able to operate for 184 minutes in Quiet mode and the auto vacuum and mop can last for 136 minutes in standard mode before needing to recharge or return to the base to refill. You can view the entire cleaning information in the app, which is clearly laid out and easily understood however we would have liked to be able distinguish between a vacuum and mop and vacuum clean when looking at a clean area in the history of cleaning.

2. Roborock S8 Pro Ultra

The Roborock S8 Pro Ultra is the most recent version of the company's top robot vacuum cleaner best mop and vacuum. It's not like the model from last year this one has a double agitator in its mopping pad, which significantly enhances its carpet cleaning abilities. The S8 Pro Ultra also has an improved suction capacity, allowing it to remove small hairs and other particles that other robotic cleaners may overlook.

Like the two other Roborock models I've tried the S8 Pro Ultra has a reactive 3D obstacle avoidance and infrared technology to can help to avoid furniture, walls and other obstacles. The S8 Pro Ultra goes one step further by incorporating dual cameras that can detect objects, determining if they are walls or other surfaces. It then can alter its course automatically and clean around the objects, without missing a step.

It's the most expensive model I've tried and it comes with the most features. Its sleek, angular design is striking and has just three physical buttons: the power button, which can also restart cleaning; a mop-only switch that doubles as a child lock and Robotic cleaner and mop a home button to bring the robot back to its dock. The hinged lid opens to reveal a 350ml dustbin as well as a 200ml water tank. The water tank is automatically filled and the bin automatically refills.

The only downside I've discovered with this model is that its VibraRise mop pad mount is not removable. You can replace the mopping cloth if required, but it's not easy to remove the mount for washing manually. I've observed that any soft carpet that the robot touches will come into contact with the rough Velcro-like fastener mechanism on the mount, and can cause abrasions.

The S8 Pro Ultra is equipped with a variety of intelligent features including support for Google Home and Amazon Alexa. The Roborock app lets you manage and configure these advanced features. It also contains maps and advanced mopping options. The app allows you to schedule cleanings and track the battery's lifespan. But you'll need to jump through a few hoops to enable voice control on this model which is unfortunate considering the performance of this model.

3. Dreame X40

It can be controlled by the Dreame App or Alexa, Siri, or Google Home to ensure that voice-controlled operations are smooth and easy.

The app is simple to use and understand and the X40 comes with a variety of smart features that are easy to set up. Users can program the X40 to clean at specific times, adjust suction power and mode, look at mapping and floor plans and manage mopping settings. The X40 can also track its progress and notify you when it's finished.

The X40 is easy to clean and has numerous convenient features, making it a great choice for busy families. 4. L20 Ultra

The L20 Ultra robot is one of the most expensive models available on the market. It has several features that make it stand out. This is higher than the Roborock S8 Pro Ultra and Ecovacs Deebots T20 Omni. It can also clean pet hair, small dirt particles, and clean up spills and dirt-stained spots.

The mops are cleaned and dried in the base station each time they are used. This feature is great because it stops mould and unpleasant odours from building up in the storage. It also makes the mop system more efficient. This is a feature that we haven't seen on other robot mop or vacuum models. It could be a great way to keep your home clean longer.

There are plenty of choices, including the possibility to schedule cleanings and adjust preferences. The app lets you define these preferences, or you can make use of the buttons on the device itself. The L20 Ultra has a stylish design with a metallic-white-white finish that looks sophisticated and classy. It's a bit heavier at 4kg than some of the other robots listed on this list however it's not a lot of weight. It is solid and well-built. The mopping system is well-designed, and the double rotating mop is a great choice for hard floors or in corners. The MopExtend feature lets them extend up to 2mm below the baseboards.
