Robots that vacuum and clean provide the convenience of cleaning both dry and wet messes in one go and without the need to switch between devices. They also can save storage space compared to having two separate units, particularly in smaller living spaces.

A good combination bot will be able to navigate well and have excellent obstacles avoidance. Look for models that have docks that allow them to automatically empty their bins, replenish their water tanks and robots that vacuum and mop machine-wash the mopping pads.

1. Eufy S1 Pro

It has plenty to offer for its affordable price and is one of the easiest robots we've tested to install. Unpacking the S1 Pro is simple, and the quick-start guide will get you running with a clean, full dust bag, hard floor solution and water tank in a matter of minutes.

The S1 Pro is an incredibly powerful machine that can automatic vacuum and mop and mop well. The mops spin at a high speed and utilize 2.2 pounds (1kg of force) to quickly remove dirt, pet hair and sticky dried spills. The vacuum has four power modes, a selection of attachments and brushes, and a user-friendly app that lets you choose the exact kind of cleaning you'd like to have for each room.

A handy LCD screen on the docking station shows you when maintenance jobs must be completed, such as emptying the debris tray and cleaning the dirty water tank. It also mixes detergent into the water tank by itself, using a 600ml eufy solution.

Both the S1 Pro mop and vacuum have a long running time. The mop is able to run for 184 minutes in Quiet Mode, and the vacuum can last for 136 minutes in normal mode, before needing to recharge or returning back to the base. You can view the complete cleaning details within the app, which is well laid out and easy to understand, though we would like to be able to distinguish between a mop only vacuum and mop and vacuum clean when looking at a cleaned area in the history of cleaning.

2. Roborock S8 Pro Ultra

The Roborock S8 Pro Ultra is the latest version of the company's top robot vacuum and mop. It's not like the model from last year, this one features two agitators in its mopping pad, which significantly enhances its carpet cleaning capabilities. The S8 Pro Ultra also has enhanced suction power, which allows it to pick up small hairs and other debris that other robotic cleaners may be unable to pick up.

This Roborock model, just like the other two I tested, has infrared and reactive 3D obstacle avoidance technology that helps it overcome obstacles like walls, furniture, and other obstacles. The S8 Pro Ultra goes one step further by incorporating a dual-camera that can identify objects, and determine if they're walls or other surfaces. It can then automatically change its path and clean them without skipping a beat.

This is the most expensive of the three models I've reviewed, but it's also the most feature-packed. Its sleek and angular design is striking and comes with three physical buttons. The power button, which also restarts the cleaning process mop function, a button for cleaning that doubles up as a child-lock and a home button to send the Best robot vacuum uk to its dock. Lifting the hinged lid reveals a 350ml dust bin and 200ml water tank. The water tank will empty itself and the bin is auto-refilling.

The only downside I found to this model was that the VibraRise mop pads mount isn't removable. Although you can change the mopping cloth (if needed) but it's a challenge to take off the mount to wash it manually. I've noticed that any carpet that the robot hoover touches will be in contact with the rough Velcro like fastener system on the mount, which can cause scratches.

The S8 Pro Ultra is equipped with a range of clever features including support for Google Home and Amazon Alexa. You can manage and set up these using the Roborock app that is also home to its maps and advanced mopping settings. The app allows you to schedule cleanings and track the battery's lifespan. But you'll need to jump through a few hurdles to enable voice control on this model which is a pity considering the quality of its performance.

3. Dreame X40

The Dreame X40 robot vacuum and mop is an industry leader with its innovative features, top suction power and advanced mopping capabilities. Its innovative design allows for customised and efficient cleaning while also saving time.

The X40 robot vacuum cleaner is the first to feature 12,000 Pascals cleaning power. It is one of the most powerful choices available. This powerful vacuum is able to clean up pet hair as well as crumbs and other dry debris. It has a mop of top quality that cleans hard floors without the need for pads. Additionally, the X40 is very quiet during its operation, with only occasional bursts of noise when switching between modes or performing self-maintenance tasks.

The X40 also has a side brush that can be extended and lifted. This lets it reach into corners that are difficult to reach and clean furniture with curved edges like table and chair legs. It can also get under low-profile furnishings, making it an excellent choice for small apartments or condos. The side brush also automatically swivels downwards when it detects wet spots. This is a nice addition that helps the X40 avoid damaging floors with excessive back-and-forth movements.

Unlike other robots, which are restricted to a single task, the X40 can vacuum and mop simultaneously. It can be programmed to only mop the hard floors and skip carpeted areas, or vice versa. It can be controlled through the Dreame app or by using Alexa, Siri, and Google Home to ensure a smooth voice-controlled operation.

The app is easy to use and understand The X40 has many smart features that are simple to configure. Users can program the X40 to clean at certain times. It can also be adjusted to adjust suction power, switch modes, look at floor plans and maps and control mopping settings. The X40 can also track its progress and notify you when it's finished.

The X40 is easy-to-maintain and offers many convenient features, making it a perfect choice for busy families. The docking station will automatically cleans the dustbin and the mop pads and refill them with fresh cleaning solution and water. It can also detect when the mop pad is full and notify you before it overflows, reducing the need for manual maintenance.

4. L20 Ultra

The L20 Ultra robot is one of the most expensive models available on the market. It does have several characteristics that make it stand out. Smart DuoScrub is a brand new feature in its mops, uses two mop heads that are high-speed to scrub floors more thoroughly. It also has a maximum suction force of 7,000Pa. This is more than the Roborock S8 Pro Ultra and Ecovacs Deebots T20 Omni. It can also clean pet hair, dirt particles and remove spills and dirt-stained spots.

The mops are cleaned and dried in the base station each time they are used. This is beneficial because it prevents mould and unpleasant odours from building up in the storage. It also makes the mop system more efficient. This is a feature that we haven't seen in other robot vacuum that mops mop and vacuum models. It could be a great method to keep your home cleaner longer.

There's an impressive amount of options available, including the ability to schedule cleaning times and adjust a number of different preferences. The app allows you to make these settings or use the buttons on the device itself. The L20 Ultra is also one of the most elegant robots we've seen in the market, with metallic and white design that is elegant and stylish. It's a bit heavier at 4kg than some of the other robots on this list but it's not excessively heavy. It is solid and well-built. The mopping design is also excellent, and the double rotating mop is great for hard floors as well as in corners. The MopExtend feature allows them to reach up to 2mm below baseboards.
