The S1 was capable of mapping my downstairs quickly, which has flooring in the dining area, kitchen, and bathrooms and also a large rugs and a medium-pile. It easily drove close to walls without colliding with them, and was able to drive across raised room thresholds with no issue, though it occasionally struggled to get down stairs in a single step. The S1 did a good job cleaning hard floors. Its mop moved smoothly on its flat side and lifted itself when it was near carpets or rug.

The docking station of the S1 automatically empties its trash bin and replenishes its water tank onboard with clean, ozonated water before each mopping session. The dock also includes a cleaning solution in the water for deep cleaning. The S1's water tank can hold enough for about 12 cleaning sessions before it has to be emptied, though this will vary depending on how much you use the mop.

Like all 2-in-1 robots, the S1 requires periodic maintenance to ensure that it's operating well. For this, you'll need to wash the water tank that is dirty regularly to keep it from becoming clogged. Also, you'll need to clean your swivel wheel and sensors regularly to avoid them getting blocked by dirt or dust. Overall the S1 is simple to maintain, especially compared to other models that require more care.

2. Ecovacs Deebot X2 Combo Complete

Ecovacs All-in-one robot autonomous vacuum and mop is a powerful solution for cleaning. The Ecovacs robot vacuum comes with 8700Pa of suction power and comes with a variety of innovative features including voice control and smart path scheduling that cleans furniture and eliminates obstacles. The mopping capabilities of the robot are impressive. Rotating mops actually lift the floor and scrub it instead of simply dragging a pad across the surface. The mops are cleaned and dried in the base station as required.

The robot is simple to set up and use, with a simple interface that guides you through the procedure. It comes with a hand vacuum that recharges for those hard-to-reach areas that the robot isn't able to reach as well as two water tanks that are automatically emptied and refilled when needed. The Deebot X2 Combo Complete does well at vacuuming, with a strong suction that easily picks up all kinds of debris, including the smaller bits of dust that other robots struggle with. Its navigation abilities are also decent, but it can be stuck on small area mats and rugs in my home (which you can reduce by creating virtual boundaries in the app). The mopping capabilities are quite impressive, and comes with a pair of spinning mops that actually lift and scrub the floors, as opposed to simply dragging the pad over it. The mops are cleaned with heated water and dried in the base station as needed. The mops are also refilled at the top of the station as they are required.

3. Dreame X40 ultra

Dreame launched the luxurious X30 Ultra earlier this year, but their new top-of-the-line robot mop and vacuum comes with more impressive features. It boasts fantastic cleaning results and hands-off maintenance which makes it a strong contender for our best robot hoover mop and robot vacuum list. Its superior mapping abilities, RGB AI smart detection and an extended side brush will ensure a thorough, customized clean is completed.

The X40 Ultra vacuums well, removing both fine and large debris. It is a great choice on hard floors and carpets. It also cleaned our test's most soiled areas efficiently, while keeping pet hairs from getting caught in knots and other dirt. The sweeping power is enhanced by a side brush that automatically swings out to tackle hard-to-reach corners, and an extendable mop pad that deploys alongside baseboards.

Its navigation system is intelligent it can navigate tight spaces and negotiating stairs without missing a beat. It can move from one room to the next without needing to reverse the direction. This is beneficial for large homes with multiple rooms. Its obstacle avoidance is not as advanced than the ones of other competitors and leaves a large space around obstacles. This can result in missing spots.

The app is streamlined, intuitive interface that should be easy to use for both new and experienced users. The app lets you schedule and control cleaning tasks.
