BMW Ghost Immobiliser

The Ghost utilizes the data bus CAN to communicate with your vehicle. This prevents thieves from adding keys or replacing the ECU to get around your security system because it requires a valid PIN code to begin the engine.

The Ghost is unlike other immobilisers in that it doesn't rely on key fobs or LED indicators. It uses the buttons on your vehicle to allow you to enter a unique sequence of disarming that you can only remember.

Stop & Start

If you have ever driven a brand new BMW or used the stop-start feature, then you might have noticed that once stopped the engine continues to be running for approximately 30 seconds after you release the brake pedal. The BMW engine management system continues to watch the vehicle for signals that comes from the ignition key. If it detects this the vehicle will continue to operate. The Autowatch 2 Ghost immobiliser prevents this from happening by stopping the car when you press a button.

Our BMW ghost immobiliser, a new generation device, doesn't require you to cut OEM wires or to add key fobs or alarms from the aftermarket. It is connected to the BMW CAN data network, and is programmed with a unique PIN code which is accessed by buttons in your car. This allows you to enter the key push sequence that isn't available in the usual menus for media, such as volume up/down and source, cruise control or air conditioning on and stops your car from starting unless the sequence is entered. The PIN can range between 4 and 20 numbers, so it is extremely difficult for thieves to figure out or crack.

In addition to this we can also add a service or valet mode to the system, this is activated when the car is scheduled for maintenance so that the Ghost is not visible to the garage. You can activate this by pressing the service button five times on your infotainment device (the system will flash in confirmation) and the Ghost will automatically rearm when you return.

Service Mode / Valet Mode

The Ghost is the leading immobiliser on the market. It stops your vehicle from being stolen by hacking or key cloning. It uses the factory buttons on your vehicle to generate an individual sequence of pushes that only you can identify. This is similar to the pin code security of your mobile phone. It's subtle, extremely effective and deterrence for even the most obstinate thieves!

When parked at home or in the event of a meet and greet In a meet and greet situation, the Ghost can be set to service mode, which allows you to start your vehicle using your keys normally, however it stops the engine from being started until the proper code is entered. This is ideal for customers who have to hand their vehicles over to valet services or other trusted friends & family members. This lets you bring your vehicle to the garage for repairs and maintenance, etc. without having to worry about it being modified by an expert mechanic while you wait.

Once the service / valet mode is activated, it will stop your BMW from being able to be driven once started, this prevents anyone from testing it whilst you are away. When you return, it will be back to normal driving, stopping your car from being tampered with or stolen again.

We can mount the Ghost to any BMW all you require is the right keys as it doesn't require the original remotes and can be used with them. If you don't want to use a smartphone, or aren't at ease with it, we offer an optional Bluetooth tag that can be used to disable the Ghost. This is an additional expense and requires a different Bluetooth pairing.

Anti-Hijack

Ghost created this discrete device that is obtrusive, and unobtrusive to fight the growing sophistication of hi-tech thieves. It is designed to stop thieves from adding keys or replacing the ECU to start your vehicle and drive off. Ghost links up to your CAN data network and uses the buttons on your vehicle (steering wheel and centre console, as well as door panels) to create an individual push sequence that must be entered before the engine can be started.

Once the anti-hijacking mode is activated, any attempt to restart the engine will be thwarted. Once the system detects that the vehicle is no longer moving, it will honk the horn and flash the indicators, if it is unable to identify the correct code it will also stall the engine (where possible). By entering your push sequence, or entering service mode, you can disable the Anti-Hijack function. This allows your vehicle to temporarily start without the need to enter PIN.

If you own a GPS device connected to your BMW it could be used to cancel the Anti-Hijack feature, allowing you to still use the navigation system in your car even when the vehicle is parked and unattended. You can also use your smart-phone to control the anti theft feature and other functions.

This product is Tassa-certified and recognized by most insurance companies. It will decrease the chances of your joy and pride being stolen. Remote Control

We can connect the Ghost device with your mobile app to enable remote control of keyless start and go capabilities. This is helpful if you need to be somewhere else and valet or mechanic need to start your vehicle. The system allows you to turn the vehicle on by selecting drive and then exit service mode without needing your key fobs. You can also view your vehicle in real-time on a map on your smartphone, perfect to track your car while in motion.

The Ghost can be placed under the dashboard, or in the centre console. It is completely concealed and tamper-proof. It does not require any additional wiring. The device is connected to the CAN Data Network of the vehicle (similar to an Ethernet cable) and a unique pin code is inserted into it. The pin code has to be entered prior to the vehicle's start. This prevents thieves from bypassing the system using an unauthorized clone or replacement ECU.

If your vehicle is stolen, the ghost 2 immobiliser problems will go into service mode and shut down all functions unless you have the PIN code or the mobile application to disable it. This feature was created to safeguard your vehicle from high-tech thieves who are now utilising relay boxes to steal your vehicle. It will even stop the thieves from using their mobile phone to turn on your sat nav or MP3 player to locate your car!

Ghost can also prevent 'Relay-style Frequency Amplification'. This is the most typical way that a vehicle is being stolen with a key-fob that was copied or stolen through hacking. Ghost allows you to stop this by installing a security device to prevent theft in your vehicle called Secure-A-Key. The device is inserted into the key-fob of your vehicle and disconnects its battery after a couple of inactive minutes. This is possible with the majority of modern PKE keys.
