The Sennheiser Momentum 4s have amazing ANC and a user-friendly app, and easy-to-use on-ear controls. The default sound is a punchy thump, but instruments and vocals can be pushed to the background.

The Sony WH-1000XM5 is a great pair of headphones for people who enjoy music and want the most wireless headset. They're light and comfortable with a carrying case that folds flat to make it easy to store in your bag. The controls on the touch are intuitive and easy to use and the battery will last for 30 hours with no ANC. The headphones have an automatic stop feature that turns them off when you remove them from your head. This helps in conserving battery.

The WH-1000XM5 is compatible with Sony's Headphones Connect app which offers an array of features and can be used to personalize your audio experience. The app can be used to monitor your location and tailor Listening ambient sound features to your surroundings. The device also has a built-in microphone for making hands-free calls. The Sony WH1000XM5 is able to play music wirelessly via Bluetooth or wired with the cable included. They support aptX codecs, aptX HD codecs, and adaptive codecs to play high-quality audio through Bluetooth.

Like the XM4 The WH-1000XM5 is lightweight and comfortable, with a well-padded headbands and ear cups. They're easy to wear for long periods of time and are comfortable enough for commutes and longer flights. They offer excellent noise cancellation performance that blocks out most background noise without compromising on clarity and detail. The Sony WH-1000XM5 have a decent amount of bass for a pair of closed back headphones and they provide a great soundstage, with the clear distinction between vocals and instruments.

They have a low latency when watching videos which is a plus. The lag is so minimal that it's barely noticeable and they can be used for gaming on the go. They're not the best choice for video games that compete and are best for those who intend to use them for media consumption or to make calls that are hands-free.

Sony is dedicated to incorporating smart features into its products and the WH1000XM5 is no exception. The active noise cancellation is one of the best I've tried and they include a whole range of smart functions that improve the overall listening experience. Sony's DSEE Extreme Engine upscales compressed audio to a near-hi-res format. They also work with Sony's LDAC technology which streams higher-bitrate audio over Bluetooth (although not as high-quality as a dedicated headphone DAC).

2. Bowers & Wilkins PX7 S2

Bowers & Wilkins flagship wifi headphones which is the PX7 S2, have consistently appeared on the top lists of wireless headsets since the launch of the first-generation PX7 in the year 2015. This puts them in the same category as Sony WH1000XM5 or Bose's QuietComfort. The latest model, the PX7 S2, is an upgrade that takes the initial headphones to the next level with better ANC performance and a refreshed design.

The bio-cellulose drivers that measure 40mm inside the earcups are angled so they are aimed directly at your eardrums. This delivers an audio experience that is more intimate unlike other closed-back headphones. The PX7 S2 lives up to this bold claim. Vocals are clear and clear and bass is rich and rumbly when you need it to be.

The PX7 S2 is also very adept at making voice calls. It has a clear and clear sound that does not overpower your voice. The PX7 S2 also comes with an extremely fast charge that can get you back to full capacity in just two hours. They are also compatible with hi-res music, thanks to the aptX adaptive Bluetooth codesc which allow the playback of 24-bit audio.

Of course they're not 100% perfect. The clamp force of the models we tested were a bit more than we would have liked, and there weren't as many app features as the other options. However, these aren't major issues. The PX7 S2s is an excellent wireless headset that rivals other models in its class. It's difficult to imagine a competitor listening to match them.

3. Focal Bathys Wireless

For audiophiles who value high-fidelity and are searching for a top-quality wireless noise cancelling headset The Focal Bathys are difficult to beat. The Focal Bathys are the first ANC headphones made by a French audio company to use Bluetooth. They deliver stunning sound both in Bluetooth mode and when connected via USB to a device that supports true hi-fi listeners with a maximum of 24bit/192kHz.

The Bathys are stunning, with their glossy finish and swooping curvatures that are reminiscent Focal's closed-back Celestee and open-back Elear headphones. The Bathys are made from premium materials such as magnesium and aluminum that make them feel sturdy and comfortable. They're also worth the price.

In Bluetooth mode, the Bathys offer a clear and lively sound signature that easily surpasses similarly priced consumer ANC options like the Bose QC45. They can be pushed even further with direct DAC audio mode which makes them an excellent choice for serious hi-fi enthusiasts.

Using the Focal and Naim application, users can adjust the playback controls of their headphones, virtual assistant, and Bluetooth pairing preferences. The app lets users choose between soft and silent intensities for ANC. They can also adjust the brightness of LEDs on the earcups of the headphones, and adjust the EQ settings. The app is bare-bones however it provides enough functionality to be worth the cost of downloading.

The only issue is that the active noise cancellation does not live up to the competition. The headphone doesn't block out all of the ambient noise as the top-rated XM5 or AirPods Max, and its treble accuracy is subpar, with a muffled mid to high frequency that impedes the sound of instruments and vocals.

The Focal Bathys headphones aren't the most transportable. They're not suitable for travel because their ear cups do not fold, and they weigh more than the competition. They're ideal for a home environment where they can be used for long listening sessions or as an example headphone for sound engineering purposes. Despite their size and weight they are Bathys are extremely comfortable to wear for extended durations of time.

4. Sony WH-CH720N

The Sony WHCH720N are a good pair of wireless over-ear headphones for the money. They come with a reliable noise-cancelling system that does a great job of quelling ambient noise, which makes them great for those who commute or travel. They also add an appealing touch of premium quality with their sturdy construction and appealing matte finish.

They have a similar look to Sony's 1000X and XB910N earphone models. They sport a slim, plastic headband, with the standard hinges for the earcups. They're lightweight and comfortable to wear, however they feel a bit too tight for my taste. They come with a USB-C charge port, 3.5mm jack and a decent-length cable inside the box. They support multipoint Bluetooth, which means you can connect to two devices at once should you wish to.

In my tests, the CH720N's hybrid technology for noise cancellation did an excellent job of reducing ambient noise. There were only a few noticeable glitches while walking around Waterloo Station and London Victoria. The sound-silencers did not block every sound in the vicinity, but they did struggle with low-frequency sounds such as the rumbling engine sounds of trains and buses.

The CH720N's Bluetooth connection was smooth and displayed a low harmonic distortion. I listened to a variety of genres and found they handled the intricate interplay between instruments quite well. It did an impressive job of controlling the bass in rock tracks and keeping the mix in focus.

The Sony Headphones Connect App allows users to modify the CH720N's multipoint connectivity and ANC settings according to your preferences. You can also choose from a range of audio presets. You can also utilize the app to activate DSEE which can boost the quality of compressed content and improves its sound quality.

While the WH-CH720N lacks a few of Sony's primetime functions compared to the XM5 (such as Speak-to -Chat and Quick Attention) they do offer an impressive set of features for PS130. It comes with 360 Reality Audio and a variety of smart controls in addition to the DSEE upscaling feature. The only thing that's missing is LDAC Bluetooth high-res audio support which I believe would have been a welcome inclusion.
