Path of Exile Item Upgrading

Players can upgrade their weapons and equipment with new attachments. They can also increase the base stats of the item or provide additional benefits. To upgrade items, the player must have the item in their inventory and access the kiln.

Items that have weak bases, like rings, can be upgraded into more robust bases. Items with bases that are strong, such as eth Titans have little change in their stats.

Upgrade components

Upgrade components can be added to weapons, armors, trinkets, and gathering tools. They can be used as an attribute bonus or extra effect, while the equipment is in use. They can be purchased from vendors, found as loot by enemies, or gotten from chests and missions. Certain upgrades can also be equipped with special cosmetic effects. Most upgrades require that the equipment be at a specific level to upgrade.

To upgrade a weapon, armor or other item in the game, the player will have to select it and then click on the Upgrade button on the toolbar. This will display a preview on the right side of the screen, showing what the expected upgrade stats will be, as well as the necessary component or material needed to make that happen.

There are three types that are universal upgrades (which include gems), prefix upgrades, and suffix upgrade components. Universal upgrades, like gems, can be put on any type of equipment. They offer a lesser bonus than upgrade components that have a specific type restriction. Infusions, which can only be placed in gear that is ascended and legendary equipment, are the same as gems, but offer higher bonuses and cannot be placed in any other kind of equipment. Suffix upgrades can be added to gathering tools. They add the suffix at the end of item upgrader kit names. For instance, adding a Glyph will transform a staff wrapping of Minor Vigor a Canthan staff wrapping of Minor Vigor.

If the player upgrades their gathering tool and replaces glyphs with another glyph the previous one will be returned to their inventory. If you replace any other upgrade component with a glyph, it will be destroyed, except for the inscriptions, which can be swapped freely.

Leveling

The upgrade system in Path of Exile has some significant changes from previous versions. Gear is now broken down into tracks and items can only be upgraded a set number of times before they're "leveled out." The cost of upgrading is increased with each level however, the materials needed aren't as high. This allows players to focus their efforts on a handful of key items and maximize their impact rather than spreading out the upgrade costs across multiple pieces.

When an item is completed in this way, it is capable of receiving an upgrade set of components, and an increase in the likelihood that the upgrade will succeed. This bonus is known as Artisan’s Energy and it resets to 0 if an upgrade fails or increases if the upgrade succeeds.

Once a piece is upgraded to its highest level, it will be able to gain affixes which will boost its attributes. The amount of affixes available will depend on the item's type. For instance an uncommon or unique weapon with a standard base will only have two affixes. A legend armor will have eight affixes.

Each upgrade requires a specific number of Flightstones or Crests, depending on whether the item is at its current level and in what slot it is located in. Weapons typically require more Flightstones than other equipment.

If an item fails to attain its maximum level, the NPC offers the player the option to transfer it to a different character and re-infuse the item with a different set or upgrades. This process can take between one and two hours, and costs the same amount of materials. However it has a lower rate of success.

To determine the height of a building, engineers will employ a level to compare the measurement to an established reference point, like a benchmark or the ground's elevation. This is known as a "level loop." It involves taking readings with the backsight rod and level before turning the level to make the foresight rod reading. This method ensures that structures are built to the highest degree of precision and security.

Rerolling

Rerolling is the process of altering the upgrade components of an item. It is an essential element of the game and can improve the strength, damage, or other attributes. You can do this via the item menu or by pressing the Reroll button when you upgrade an item. Rerolling is costly and should only be used in very rare instances.

Reroll tokens are obtained by recycling upgraded items. These tokens can be used to upgrade the original item or a similar item. Recyclable items have a level gauge that shows how much of the upgrade gauge is filled. The amount of level that has been filled is based on the rarity and upgrade cost of the item.

Prior to this, some upgrade items were given priority affixes that made them easier to roll. This meant that you'd receive the stats that mattered most to your build often than others. These included things like the armor's total armor, thorns and duration reduction stats that are controlled or the weapon's bonus attack speed and critical strike chance.

This was changed in the latest patch. Priority affixes have been removed and all upgrades will have the same odds of rolling for every stat. This can be a great or bad thing depending on your requirements and expectations from your equipment.

Each upgraded item can come with a unique fixed-value bonus that boosts its power by a specific percentage. These bonuses are added to normal affixes. The more you upgrade your product, the higher your chances of receiving an exclusive bonus.

The game also includes number set that grants a bonus when three or four upgraded items from the set are equipped on an unit. This is a great method to give an individual character more power without spending a ton of money.

Many players have the habit of rerolling their weapons and gear particularly in the beginning stages. Rerolling can give players a faster route to a more powerful character and allows them to climb higher levels and advance in the game more quickly.

Sets

Sets are collections that can be set up differently. They can be different dimensions, have no elements, or contain one element. They can be used to organize data or separating information. They can also be used to study patterns. Sets can be categorized in several ways, including by size and shape.

There are a range of set items to upgrade in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. Some are worth upgrading, others aren't. Armor sets with high defense or set bonuses are typically worth upgrading. However, upgrades to weapons typically do not improve the quality of the Item Upgrader Mod's stats when in comparison to their purple counterparts. This makes them less attractive to upgrade if you have many weapons or armor pieces already.

Some set items are upgraded for their unique procs, which can be particularly useful in some builds. Guillaume's Face face and Aldur's Advance boots are examples of this. Both were upgraded from Exceptional Winged Helm and Exceptional Mirrored Boots respectively, boosting their defense by 217 to 321 (Strength requirement and Level requirement increased as well).

Another reason to upgrade certain items is to bring them up to parity with their levels. For instance, the Immortal King set has a large level range, between 29 and 76. Upgrades to lower-level items could enhance their defense, and make them more competitive in terms of damage.

Clicking the Upgrade button will display the attributes of the item as well as the necessary items needed to upgrade it. It will show the item's attributes, along with the required items to upgrade it. For example, the No-mouth Face will require 1.1K Scrap Materials and 250 Enchanted Dust, and 5 Glowing Shards to upgrade. Alternatively, players can visit the Leaderboard or Golden vendor in Cyrodiil to check the upgrade requirements of specific items.

In general, armor and weapons have a higher trade value when they are fully updated. Upgrades to gold are recommended for weapons that have spells or glyphs that damage weapons. This will bring about a significant improvement in their stats. Armor that has an upgraded appearance will benefit from this upgrade because its defense will increase when it goes from purple to gold.
