The Roborock Q7 Max is a powerful robot with smart mapping and app-based no-go zones. Its 180-minute running time is impressive. It also self-empties and automatically refills its water tank.

1. Roomba j7+ iRobot from iRobot.

The Roomba J7+ is iRobot's most intelligent robot automated vacuum to date. Its biggest innovation is its camera-based obstacle-detection system. It makes use of AI to detect objects like charging cords and shoes. It's also the first robot to automatically send you a picture of the object it comes across to let you know to stay clear of it in the future.

The Combo j7+ is also the most efficient mop robot we've ever tested, picking up spills and dirt with ease without leaving any trace that was there. It's easy to control through the iRobot Home app that lets you schedule cleaning and set up Keep Out Zones to ensure it doesn't sweep areas you do not want it to. It's also compatible with Alexa and Google Assistant, so you can start and stop it with your voice.

Its design is also a step above the competition with a sleek top piece that appears more like a toy than a loud, obnoxious one. And the Clean Base Automatic Dirt Disposal System self-empties and is ideal to speed up cleaning.

In our tests, we found that the j7+ quickly removed dust, dirt, and pet hair. The counter-rotating rubber brushes kept the debris in one place instead of scattering it across the floor. It even managed to capture sand and small gravel that other robots aren't able to do. It did all this without getting caught in our pet's shedding hair.

The j7+, although not as sophisticated as the Roomba S9, which costs $1,217+ self cleaning vacuum cleaner-Emptying Vacuum from iRobot and cannot clean the stairs, is still an excellent choice for those who require both mopping and a vacuum. It's not costly and the iRobot App makes it easy to use.

Although the iRobot Home app is very easy to use however, we've found it to be less reliable than other apps that use robotic floor vacuums cleaners. It can take a while to download updates, and at times it's difficult to tell whether the update actually working until you've seen it in the action.

2. Roborock Q5+

If you're looking for an automated vacuum cleaner that can do more than simply clean floors, the best auto vacuum option is probably hybrid. This category of bots typically includes a built-in water tank that allows them to vacuum and mop your house at the same time. They also come with many additional features such as smart mapping, small object avoidance, and the ability to wash and re-dry mopping pads. They're costly at full retail but often are reduced on Black Friday or Cyber Monday.

Roborock is one of our favorite robot vacuums, and the Q5+ isn't an exception. It's the cheapest model in their auto-empty line. While it may not have some of the more luxurious features (like no-go zones and multi-story memories) however, it's an excellent option if you are willing to compromise to save a few dollars.

The Q5+ is extremely soft when it comes to obstacles such as walls and table legs. This makes it an excellent choice for homes that have a lot of furniture. It is also very thorough in removing dust bunnies. This is an area that many robot vacuums that are less expensive aren't able to meet. The Q5+'s navigation system is top-quality, with a few misses along walls or in corners.

Like other Roborock devices, the Q5+ can be controlled by a handful of buttons on the device or via the Roborock app. With the app you can begin and stop cleanings and schedules, as well as create virtual barriers and no-go zones, and alter your home map, or re-label rooms.

If you opt for the Q5+, it comes with a brand new auto-empty dock that's specifically designed to make this robot easy to maintain. It requires a screwdriver for install, but once installed, the process of emptying the bin is relatively easy. It also features an impressive LCD display that is great to have when setting up schedules or adjusting settings. This feature isn't essential for everyone, but it can help you easily keep track of the robot's maintenance schedules.

3. Narwal Freo X Ultra

The Freo X Ultra robot vacuum and mop is a smart, well-rounded mop and vacuum. It's capable of mopping and vacuuming. Its design and function are among the best combo vacuum on the market however, it's also expensive.

The base station is attractive and hides it when not in use, and its size is relatively compact. But the station's main selling feature is the way it automatizes numerous tasks and functions that most other robots leave up to you. It can store clean and dirty water, it electrolyzes and heats the water (which many other robots require you to do), empties the dustbin after vacuuming, and keeps your robot clean and charged.

Its vacuuming capabilities are also impressive. It's the few robovacs I've tested that do very well at picking up debris on bare floors, and it's not as loud as the more expensive Roomba 980 or iRobot the 900 series.

However, the Freo X Ultra has its shortcomings, particularly when it comes to navigation. The laser and LiDAR sensors aren't as reliable as other robovacs. This means it sometimes gets stuck or confused in certain areas of your home. It's also unable to climb stairs as well as other models and isn't equipped with a dock to create a clean zone for carpets with plush padding.

While it doesn't offer as much in the way of cleaning configuration options in its app, or as many shortcuts within the app as some other robovacs, the Freo X Ultra is still a top choice for those looking for a comprehensive mop and vacuum cleaner that's worth the higher price price.

If you're looking to cut costs or aren't averse to the limitations of the robot, there are plenty of other options available. A lot of eufy models are substantially less. The Eufy Qrevo Curv, for instance is less expensive and offers an identical experience on the app with more features like the ability to climb stairs, a full-function dock, and better overall performance when vacuuming floors and low and high-pile carpets.

4. eufy RoboVac G30

Eufy, an Anker company has a proven track record of creating robot vacuums that strike the perfect balance between performance, features and price. The G30 Hybrid offers a powerful cleaning power for hard and carpet floors, automated vacuum cleaner as well as mopping functions for a low cost. It's simple to set up, just connect one of the side brushes and then turn it on. Then connect your charging dock. The app will guide you through the steps needed to connect your G30 to your Wi-Fi. You'll need to leave the dock near an electrical outlet and enough space for it to move, however.

The G30 is a tiny device, measuring 2.85 inches in height, meaning it is able to fit under most couches and low-clearance pieces furniture. If it requires a recharge, it will automatically return to its base, and then resumes cleaning from where it started.

The elegant G30 isn't without faults however. The iRobot Roomba is more durable and has lower monthly costs. It charges faster, has a similar battery life, and performs better on unfinished floors or low-pile carpet. It also has a larger dust bin that doesn't need to be empty as often and comes with an array of boundary strips to keep it away from certain areas. The G30 on the other hand, is more affordable and is much more manageable to maintain. Its smaller dust container does not require emptying as often and it has less trouble with heavy materials such as cereal.
