WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader

Upgrades give you an increase in certain stats. Each upgrade increases the level of an item upgrades by 3. A random additional substat is also boosted alongside every upgrade.

The upgraded gear is usually more valuable, unless it has low requirements by nature (like FB sorc shields) or has a large variance in stats (like Eth Titan weapons). Upgrades aren't as important for the latter due to the requirement to roll a perfect version.

Recycle Points

The item upgrader enables players to upgrade their gear to a higher level by providing the appropriate currency to the NPC. Upgrades can be made on any kind of weapon or armor. However, the item level upgrade (similar web page) used to upgrade will remain in use for a long time and will not be able to be used again. Upgrades can also be used to create the enchantments.

The upgrader is located in all major cities and can be visited anytime to upgrade your gear. It is recommended that you visit the upgrader at least once every few weeks, to ensure that your equipment is up-to-date.

Upgrades can cost more based on the level of the item, but they will always be less expensive than purchasing new gear. Upgrades like upgrading a Benthic chest up to the level of ilvl385 will cost you 20 recycle points. Buying a similar item will cost you 105.

Valorstones

Upgrades are items that can be used to upgrade weapons and tools, armor and other items. They are purchased by players through NPCs that sell upgrades to items in exchange for a variety of currencies, and can be found in random treasure lists. Once an upgrade has been purchased it can be applied to any weapon or tool using the help of button, which will display an item's preview at its next upgrade level when the player has enough materials.

The cost of upgrading is based on the item slot and the current level of the item as well as the level of the weapon, which is more than gloves or bracers, for example. Each upgrade costs 15 Flightstones and a number of crests, with certain upgrades having a discount to reduce the cost of the Flightstones or crests that are used. After an item upgrade has been upgraded to a certain degree it is able to be degraded and returned to the upgrader for a lower amount of the two currencies.

Many locations have upgraders for their items in addition to the main island and a few outposts. The NPCs offer both an upgrade coupon and the possibility of obtaining an entirely new recipe. The discount on upgrades increases when more items are upgraded. It can also be increased by having players complete certain achievements or quests.

Unlike Cromwell in Baldur's Gate II there is no item upgrader available at the start of Icewind Dale. Instead the NPCs that can be used to upgrade are acquired via various methods that are both an improvement and a drawback.

In Season 3, a number of new features were added to the upgrade system. After a player has upgraded to a certain level of item for an armor slot, upgrading other items to the same item level will cost less. This applies even if the items come from a different set of equipment.

The discount is available to all accounts. The amount of Harbinger Crests needed to upgrade is reduced also, but is only available after certain milestones have been reached.

Crests

Players have a number of choices when it comes to upgrading their gear in WoW. Flightstones are an option that is accessible to all players for upgrading. Crests are more specialized and are used for specific item upgrader mod level upgrades. Crests are a key element of the Dragonflight gear progression system introduced in 10.1, and come in 4 ranks.

First, you should know that crests are only available for equipment with a certain rank. Each rank comes with a different upgrade path. The most basic and straightforward upgrade process costs just 15 crests while the most complex requires as many as 20 crests depending on the kind of gear that is being upgraded.

Players can earn crests through completing content at the appropriate level. This could be done by doing outdoor activities or taking on dungeons and raids of any difficulty to earn equipment of lower tier or Mythicbosses for raids, or dungeons with a heroic difficulty to obtain endgame gear. These crests are then exchanged with an upgrader for the item like Cuzolth or Vaskarn, in Valdrakken for the appropriate upgrade steps and routes.

The new currency system isn't too difficult to use, however it brings some changes to the upgrade process. Once a piece of gear has reached the highest level of upgrade for any rank (Explorer or Adventurer), it no longer requires Flightstones. This allows players to upgrade their gear to the highest possible level for all their characters, instead of relying on seasonal loot.

It's also important to use crests with care, since they are only used for one purpose. For instance, it's a good idea use all of your Whelpling-rank crests with the best equipment available and then keep Drake and Wyrm crests for the next batch of upgrades you're planning on making. This is especially applicable to items like trinkets and rings that take up several slots. The discount on the account is only applicable when all slots on the character are filled with high-quality equipment.
