The PX7 S2 is a perfect example of the bold claim. Vocals are clear and clear and bass is rich and rumbly when it needs to be.

The Bathys look gorgeous with their black glossy finish and swooping curves like Focal's premium open back Elear and closed-back Celestee headphones. They also come with premium materials such as magnesium and aluminum for an extremely sturdy build that is comfortable, solid and worth the price.

In Bluetooth mode in Bluetooth mode, the Bathys deliver a crisp and lively sound signature that easily outperforms similarly priced consumer ANC alternatives like the Sony XM5/5 or Bose QC45. Direct DAC audio mode lets them be pushed further and makes them an excellent option for true hifi listeners.

With the Focal and Naim application, users can adjust the playback controls of their headphones as well as their virtual assistant and Bluetooth pairing preferences. They are multipoint Bluetooth which means you can connect to two devices simultaneously when you want to.

In my tests the CH720N's hybrid tech for noise cancellation did a fantastic job of reducing ambient noise. There were only a few blips when walking through Waterloo Station and London Victoria. The sound-silencers didn't zap all sounds around them however they struggled with lower frequencies sounds, such as the rumbling engine sounds of buses and trains.

Streaming music through the CH720N's Bluetooth connection was smooth and exhibited a low level of harmonic distortion. I tested a variety of genres and found they were able to handle the intricate interplay between instruments with ease. It did a great job of taming bass in rock tracks, and focusing the mix.

The Sony Headphones Connect App allows you to alter the CH720N's multipoint connectivity and ANC settings according to your preferences. You can also choose from a range of audio presets.
