While Anker-owned Eufy has earned a name for itself in the field of low-cost robot vacuums, it's not yet an all-in-one model that could also mop. The X8 Hybrid is a new model that comes with a variety of advanced features, and is able to compete with more expensive models.

The most significant selling point for Eufy with the X8 is its laser navigation. The X8 utilizes laser mapping technology that is more accurate than previous Eufy devices. It also takes significantly less time to construct a comprehensive picture of your space and stores multiple maps, which is great for homes with multiple floors.

The X8 is still a decent vacuum on floors with no dust and can sling debris over its side brushes and into its 400ml dust bin with relative ease. Its tyres are also very adept at hugging edges and corners even though they are circular. Our tests revealed that it was able to remove 90% of the fur on hard floors.

The basic mopping mode utilizes the same water reservoir as the vacuuming mode. While this is good for spills that are not too large but you cannot regulate the amount of water it consumes and this will reduce its effectiveness for more severe staining. It does a good job in removing hair from pets. It has a higher percentage of hair removal than the Roborock S7.

3. Miele RX2

Miele's RX2 robotic vacuum is renowned for its quiet, powerful appliances. It has a beautiful design, a great navigation system and an impressive cleaning power. However, it has some operational hiccups that keep it from ranking as the top overall smart robot vacuum.

The RX2 is equipped with a dual-sensor mapping technology that makes use of LIDAR to map the space as well as a pair of 3D scanning cameras for detecting and staying clear of obstacles (such as furniture legs or pet waste). This budget robovac that is similar to other, but it has some extra features and a better performance. This combination of sensors along with a bump detector, and an infrared sensor to keep the vacuum off steps makes it one our most agile vacuums.

It was able to walk over the thick shag carpets and did not get stuck (unlike the RoboVac 11s, or Roomba 690-). Its navigation skills were impressive. Its composite score for flooring and carpet was higher than the competition, and it was able to pick up 98.5% of dirt and embedded dog hair from our laboratory test samples.

The controls are simpler than the competition's. There's a cleaning button at the top, and you can start it using the app or voice commands with Alexa or Google Assistant. You can also set up a schedule for weekly or daily cleaning, set no-go zones, and view its cleaning history. Ion is covered in a sophisticated dark gray plastic that is both attractive and appealing in your home. Its rear dustbin is accessible for emptying, and taking out the filters is also a breeze.

5. Eufy 11S

The Roomba 980 is iRobot's flagship robot vacuum. It's expensive but it's the most powerful robot vacuum you can purchase. Its self-navigation feature and environmental mapping are a joy to behold. It is more sophisticated in its automation than its competitors, most powerful robot Vacuum such as the ability to set up virtual boundary markers with its mobile app. While its app is a little sluggish, and the 980 does spin a bit when rolling over cables, it's a highly efficient robot vacuum.

We love the 980 due to its iAdapt2.0 navigation sensors as well as visual simultaneity localisation and mapping (or vSLAM) to remember your home's floor plan. It uses this information to create a consistent, efficient cleaning path in every cycle. The result is cleaner floors and a better robot vacuum than many high-end robotics.
