It's an extremely powerful mop and vacuum cleaner. It completed our 1,500 square foot test area in just over 101 minutes, before the battery died and it returned to its dock. The mop automatically cleans itself between uses. This feature reduces costs for maintenance while keeping the pads clean. A dock sensor detects the moment a mop pad gets dirty and initiates a wash cycle.

The S8 MaxV Ultra, like its predecessors, has an intelligent system that can detect things that are commonplace, like pet waste and shoes using a combination of a camera and LIDAR. It performed well in our evaluation of obstacle avoidance with just one minor glitch during my testing (it was stuck when unwinding a ball of wool that was tangled up around its brush arm).

The S8 MaxV Ultra comes with a suction force of 10,000pa which is nearly twice more powerful than its predecessor. This makes it an excellent choice for homes that have carpeting in abundance and varying types of flooring. The vacuum can also be programmed to automatically increase suction when it's moving over dirt or crumbs.

Like previous models there are multiple docking stations that can be placed in different rooms to automate the process of cleaning and mopping. The docking station is connected to the plumbing system and drain and refill the water tank when you're done.

4. Dreametech X40 Ultra

The Dreame X40 Ultra robot vacuum and mop is the company's latest flagship model. It offers a few unique features that its less expensive models do not. It has a powerful suction system and can mop floors easily. It has many advanced features, including an auto vacuum and mop-extending mop head and self-detangling rollers for brush. The X40 Ultra offers automatic cleaning of its base station and dust collector filter. The mop pads will be automatically drained and cleaned in hot water. After each cleaning session, the soiled water tank will be automatically emptied.

It provides advanced options to customise the cleaning schedule. For example you can select the exact start and end time for each cycle or whether it should clean carpets first before mopping. It can be instructed to clean up areas that are dirty and to increase its suction around pet litter and food bowls. The X40 Ultra is programmable to perform specific tasks, like cleaning the bathroom toilet or kitchen sink. It can also be set to automatically lift its front side brush when it detects wet areas and clean up debris from baseboards and corners.

The X40 Ultra is easy to set up and operate it, with an easy-to-use and user-friendly app and a wide range of features. It is quieter than many corded vacuums and only occasional low hums from its motor and bursts of suction when cleaning. Its navigation system, which makes use of a camera and 3D-structured lights, multiple lasers, and a 3D structured light to identify and avoid obstructions and obstacles, is impressive. This makes the X40 Ultra receive one of the highest scores in our tests for obstacle avoidance.

5. Eufy S1 Pro

The Eufy S1 Pro is an impressively powerful mop and vacuum combo that has been designed to be easy for users. The S1 Pro's navigation and mapping capabilities are excellent, with the internal dToF LiDAR system allows it to keep an unobtrusive appearance while delivering top-notch objects avoidance. It can drive close to walls and avoid steps without crashing. It also automatically raises the mop when driving on rugs or short-pile carpets. However, it did struggle with carpets with a longer pile and also several large, thick piles of dried-on debris.

Like many robots like it, the S1 Pro comes ready to roll out of the box, and requires only a quick initial mapping run to get it used to your home. The map will then be displayed in the app, and you can join or add rooms as needed. You can also set virtual boundaries and no-go zones if there's something you don't want your robot to get into.

The S1 Pro does a great job of cleaning up messes from hard floors, thanks to its rotating mop head that exerts 2.2lbs (1kg) of downward pressure on the floor. Its ability to vacuum and mop makes it an ideal option for homes with both types of flooring but its dependence on a Eufy-branded cleaning solution (which is included in the box) can make it less flexible than some other robots that allow you to add your own solutions.
