WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader

Upgrades give you boosts in certain statistics. Each upgrade increases item upgrade level by +3. A random substat is also increased with every upgrade.

Upgraded gear is generally more valuable, unless the item has a low requirement by nature (like FB sorc shields) or a high stat variance (like the eth Titan weapons). The latter see less value from upgrading due to the necessity to roll for a perfect model.

Recycle Points

The item upgrader allows players to upgrade their gear to a higher level by supplying the appropriate currency to the NPC. Upgrades can be applied to any type of weapon or armor. The item used to upgrade the item will be consumed and cannot be used again. Upgrades can be used to create the enchantments.

The upgrader is located in all major cities, and can be visited at any time to upgrade your gear. It is recommended to visit the upgrader once every few weeks to ensure that your equipment is up to date.

The cost of upgrades will be based on the current item level of the equipment being upgraded however, they will always be cheaper than purchasing new equipment from other sources. For example, upgrading a Benthic chest to ilvl 385 will cost 20 recycle points while buying a similar item from another player will costs 105.

Valorstones

Upgrades are items that can be used to purchase tools, armor, weapon, and accessory upgrades. They can be purchased by players through item upgrader NPCs in exchange for different currencies, and can be found in random treasure lists. Once an upgrade is purchased, it can be applied to any weapon or tool with the help of button, which will display an image of the item at its next upgrade level in the event that the player has enough materials.

The cost of upgrading varies based on the slot of the item and the current level of the item. For example weapons are more expensive than gloves, bracers, or bracers. Each step costs 15 Flightstones plus a certain number of crests. Certain upgrades provide discounts on Flightstones. Once an item has been upgraded to a certain amount, it can be degraded and sold back to the upgrader for a lower amount of the two currencies.

Item upgraders can be found at many locations on the main island as well as some outposts. The NPCs offer both an upgrade items discount as well as a chance to acquire a new upgrade recipe. The discount on upgrades increases as more items are upgraded. It can be increased if players complete certain achievements or quests.

Crests

This change lets players upgrade their gear to the highest level possible for all their characters instead of relying on seasonal loot.

Another important modification is that crests have one use and it's crucial to use them wisely. It is recommended to use your Whelpling-rank crests on the Best item upgrade gear you can find, and save Drake and Wyrm Crests to be used for the next set of upgrades. This is especially applicable to trinkets and rings that occupy multiple slots on the character which can only be eligible to benefit from the account-wide discount when all slots are full of high-quality gear.
