WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader

Upgrades give you boosts in specific statistics. Each upgrade boosts the level of an item by +3. Each upgrade also boosts an unspecified substat.

The more modernized gear generally has a more value in trade, unless it has inherently low requirements (like the FB shield of the sorc) or a very high stat variation (like eth titan weapons). Upgrades are not as useful for those with higher variance due to the need to roll an exact version.

Recycle Points

The item upgrader mod upgrader enables players to upgrade gear to a higher level by providing the appropriate currency to the NPC. Upgrades can be applied to any type of armor or weapons. However, the item upgrading that is used to upgrade will be consumed forever and cannot be used again. Upgrades can be applied to Enchantments.

The upgrader can be found in every major city, and can be visited anytime to upgrade your gear. It is recommended to visit the upgrader at least once every couple of weeks to keep your equipment up-to-date.

The cost of upgrading will vary based on the current item upgrades level of the equipment being upgraded but they will always be less expensive than buying new equipment from other sources. Upgrades like upgrading a Benthic chest up to the level of ilvl385 will cost you 20 recycle points. If you purchase a similar item, it will cost you 105.

Valorstones

Upgrades are items which can be used to improve the quality of weapons tools, armor, and accessories. They can be purchased by players through NPCs who sell upgrades for items in exchange for a variety of currencies, and can be found in random treasure lists. Once purchased, an upgrade can be applied to any tool, weapon, or armor. button, which displays an image of the item at its next upgrade level if the player has sufficient materials.

The cost of upgrading is based on the slot of the item level upgrade - check out your url, and current item level, with weapons costing more than gloves or bracers, for example. Each upgrade costs 15 Flightstones plus a set number of crests. Some upgrades offer a discount on the Flightstones. Once an item has been upgraded to a certain level, it can be downgraded and sold to the upgrader at a lower cost.

A lot of locations offer upgraders for items in addition to the main island and some outposts. The NPCs provide both an upgrade item discount and the chance to get a brand new upgrade recipe. The discount for upgrading increases when more items are upgraded. It can be increased by having players complete certain achievements or complete quests.

Icewind Dale does not have an item upgrading upgrader at the start unlike Cromwell from Baldur's gate II. Instead, the NPCs that are available to facilitate upgrades require several methods that are both an improvement but also a drawback.

In Season 3, the upgrade system was modified a bit, and numerous new features added. After a player has earned an upgrade to a specific item level for a particular armor slot, upgrading additional items to that level will be less expensive, even if they belong to an entirely different set of gear.

The amount of Valorstones needed for upgrades is decreased, and the discount is account-wide. In the same way, the amount of Harbinger Crests required for upgrades is also cut and is not available until players achieve certain achievement milestones.

Crests

When upgrading gear in WoW, players have a variety of choices. Flightstones are an option that is accessible to everyone for upgrading. Crests are more specialized, and are used during specific item level upgrades. Crests are an essential part of the Dragonflight gear progression system, which was introduced in 10.1, and come in 4 ranks.

The first thing to note is that crests are only able to be used to purchase gear of a specific rank, and each rank has different requirements for its upgrade path. The easiest and most straightforward upgrade costs 15 crests. The most complex upgrade could require as much as 20 crests, contingent on the type or gear being upgraded.

Players can earn crests by working through content that is of the appropriate level, whether that means walking around and doing outdoor activities for gear of lower tiers, raids or dungeons with all difficulty for items of higher tier, or Mythic+ heroic raid bosses or dungeons for endgame gear. These crests are then exchanged with an upgrader such as Cuzolth or Vaskarn in Valdrakken to upgrade the item in the proper steps and paths.

Utilizing these new currencies isn't that difficult however, the system will introduce a few changes to the overall upgrade process. When a piece of equipment reaches the highest level of upgrade for any rank (Explorer or Adventurer), it is no longer required to purchase Flightstones. This allows players to upgrade their equipment to the highest possible level on all of their characters rather than relying on seasonal loot.

Another important change is that crests have one use, so it's important to use them wisely. For instance, it's best to make use of all your Whelpling-rank crests with the best equipment available and then keep Drake and Wyrm crests for the next round of upgrades you're planning on making. This is particularly true for items like rings and trinkets that fill multiple slots on the character, which will only be able to benefit from the account-wide discount when all of the slots are full of high-quality equipment.
