Path of Exile Item Upgrading

Upgrade components

Upgrade components can be added to armors, weapons trinkets, weapons and gathering tools. They can be used as an attribute bonus or an additional benefit, while the equipment is being used. They can be purchased from vendors, retrieved in loot from enemies, or gotten from chests and missions. Certain upgrades come with additional cosmetic effects. Most upgrades require that the equipment be at a specific level to upgrade.

To upgrade a weapon, armor or other item in the game, the player will have to select it and then click on the Upgrade button in the toolbar. This will display on the right-hand side of the screen a preview showing the expected upgrade stats as well as the components or materials required for the upgrade.

There are three kinds of upgrade components including universal upgrades, prefix upgrades and suffix upgrades. Universal upgrades, which comprise gems, can be placed in any kind of equipment and offer less bonuses than upgrade components that are type-restricted. If an individual upgrades a gathering tool and replaces the glyphs with a different one the old one will be returned to their inventory. If you replace any other upgrade component the item will be destroyed, with the exception for inscriptions, which can be freely swapped.

Leveling

The upgrade system in Path of Exile has some significant changes from the previous versions. Gear is now categorised in tracks and each item is able to be upgraded so many times before it is "leveled out." The costs for upgrading increase with each level, but the materials needed do not. This allows players to concentrate their efforts on a handful of key items and maximize their impact, rather than spreading out the upgrade costs across multiple items.

Once an item has been finished being leveled, it will be capable of receiving an upgrade set of components, as well as an increase in the likelihood that the upgrade will succeed. This bonus is called the Artisan's Energy. It resets to 0 if the upgrade fails or increases when the upgrade succeeds.

When a piece is upgraded to its highest level, it can receive affixes to boost its attributes. The amount of affixes available will depend on the item's type. For example an uncommon or exclusive weapon with a standard base will have only two affixes. A legend armor will have eight affixes.

If an item is not able to get to its maximum level the NPC will offer the player the option to transfer it to a different person and then re-infuse the item with an upgrade set that is different. This procedure can take as long as two hours and will cost the same amount of materials. However, it has a lower success rate.

Engineers may utilize a level to measure the height of the building against a known point, such as an existing benchmark. This is known as a "level loop." It involves taking readings with the level and backsight rod, then turning the level and making the foresight rod reading. This method guarantees that structures are built to an extremely high level of accuracy and safety.

Rerolling

Rerolling is the process of changing the upgrade components of an item. It is a crucial aspect of the game and can dramatically improve an item upgrader mod's strength, damage, or other characteristics. You can do this through the item menu or by pressing the Reroll button when you upgrade an item. Rerolling items can be costly and should be done sparingly.

Reroll tokens are earned by recycling upgraded items. These tokens can be used to upgrade either the original item or a comparable item. Recyclable items have an indicator of level that indicates how much of the upgrade gauge is filled. The rarity and cost of upgrading an item upgrades will determine the level of filling.

In the past, some upgrade items had priority affixes that made them easier to roll for than other. It meant that you'd get the most crucial stats to your build more often than others. These included things such as the armor's total armor, thorns and control impaired duration reduction stats or the weapon's bonus attack speed and critical strike chance.

This has changed since the last patch. Priority affixes were removed and all upgrades have the identical chance of rolling each statistic. This can be either good or bad, based on what you want and need from your equipment.

Each upgraded Best item upgrader can come with a bonus that boosts the power of the item by a fixed percentage or flat value. These bonuses are added in addition to the standard affixes. The more you upgrade an item, the higher chances of obtaining the bonus of your choice.

The game also features several sets, which give a set bonus when three or more upgraded items from the same set are placed on a unit. This is a good method of giving an individual character more power without spending a ton of money.

Sets

To determine if a product is worth upgrading, players should click the Upgrade button in the screen of their character. This will display the item's characteristics, as well as the required items to upgrade it. For instance, the No-mouth Face will require 1.1K Scrap Materials, 250 Enchanted Dust and 5 Glowing Shards to upgrade.
