Boosts

With an upgrader for your item you will be able to enjoy many bonuses. These can include stats and extra bonuses. These bonuses can be used on weapons, armor and trinkets. They can be used to improve a character's abilities or to give a new dimension of variety to their character.

The World of Warcraft upgrade system allows players to upgrade their gear by paying a currency fee to an upgrader for items. This system first came into play in Mists of Pandaria, and continued with Warlords of Draenor. It's a great way to increase the level of your equipment, allowing you skip the tedious grind of questing and avoiding many wipes in Mythicand dungeons.

When an item is upgraded its base type changes. Upgrading a normal item will result in an item that is Exceptional while upgrading an Exceptional item will result in an elite version of the same base item. The item will keep its previous upgrade stats, but will receive an additional bonus from its new base type. The bonus will be randomly selected from the following options: the chance to acquire weapons with a greater damage range, a chance to obtain an increased reload speed or a chance to acquire an increased defense roll.

The amount of extras that you gain by upgrading is contingent on the number of upgrades completed. Each upgrade will increase the extras by up to 3 points. Each upgrade will also increase the stats in the main menu by +1.

Some upgrades also give you a secondary random boost in addition to stat enhancements. These boosts can be extremely valuable and must be considered when choosing which items to upgrade. Some of these boosts are only useful in specific builds (such Whistan's shield, for FB sorcs) while others could provide a great deal of value to specific collectors.

Certain items come with a built-in boos that is not useful when upgraded. For example the Goldwrap offers an additional potion slot. These are usually upgraded to add more value to a close-to-perfect or perfect item upgrader kit.

Costs

There are some costs related to upgrades of items. The first is the cost to perform the upgrade. This cost depends on the new level of the item and the number of perks it will gain and is often expensive. Upgrades to a higher level (such as Explorer to Champion or Veteran to Heroic) are costly.

The other is the cost of the items required for an upgrade. The items used for upgrades are usually either Power Dices (dropped by monsters 21+) or Minerals and Erons (obtainable through completing specific Mists of Pandaria or Warlords of Draenor quests). The amount of these materials needed can be found in the inventory of an upgrade vendor.

It takes time to upgrade an item. It can take up to 8 hours, depending on the magnitude of an upgrade. The upgraded item's base stats are calculated using the item's new ilvl bonuses, perks, and other properties. This calculation determines the new Armor Class bonus, damage dice, as well as other important stats. In some cases the upgrade can grant additional perks that can be selected from a list of available benefits.

Rarely, the perks gained will cost more than one perk slot; in these situations the upgrade will replace the perks with the highest cost. The upgrader may also make other adjustments to the item, like changing the type of damage it deals to its weapon, or adding or removing an operative or unwieldy function. The cost for these changes is determined by the item's current ilvl and it may require a specific material like the adamantine alloy.

Success Rate

Item upgrades are based on the chance of success, and as with any random system, there is the possibility that the upgrade will fail. However there are a few things that can help to increase the chances of success. This includes using an Upgrade Pity or the addition extra materials to your upgrade.

An Upgrade Pity is a product that you can purchase from the smithing NPC in Lost Ark. It increases the odds of a successful upgrade by an amount. This is similar to the luck bonus that certain items offer, but is more stable. This can be added to any weapons or armor and is used three times.

It is also possible to add a number of additional elements to the upgrade, increasing its chance of success. These are shown in a window that is above the + button. There are some limitations. The maximum amount of material you can add is displayed directly above the + button.

A Blacksmith Blessing, or an upgraded version thereof, can be used to boost the likelihood of a successful upgrade. This item can be useful if your weapon or piece is near or has reached the highest level of its level. It will let you upgrade the equipment to the next level without risking it breaking.

If an upgrade fails it will be restored to its previous state. This is typically an error, but it could also be an upgrade. Keep an upgrade in reserve until you are nearing the maximum level for an item.

Kafra has a range of items that can be utilized in order to increase the chance of a successful upgrade. The interface for the item upgrader could be somewhat confusing, but it is not impossible to navigate. The main menu appears on the left and the upgrade window appears on the right. The arrows to the left of the UI represent the various stages in the upgrade process. Click the question mark icon to receive help if you are unsure what you're doing. The process of upgrading can take up to five minutes.
