World of Warcraft Upgrades and item upgrades Upgrading

Upgrades increase the value of certain numeric stats on weapons, armor and rings. Upgrades also increase bonuses such as Crit chance and damage from PvE.

If the weapon's upgrade template is %, it will increase 3percent of its previous attack damage each time it is upgraded.

The cost for upgrading items increases when they reach the current level of the item. The cost increases as the item level rises.

Components

Upgrade Item components are items that can be put into weapons, armor, and trinkets to give a stat bonus or extra effect while they're in use. They can be obtained through making crafts, buying from vendors or trading with other players or looting. Some upgrades can also be accompanied by specific cosmetic effects.

Upgrade components can be placed in equipment with a slot for them; the item must be at least upgraded to the blue level for a component to be used. Upgrade components, unlike other mods can only be applied once. They cannot be replaced or applied multiple times. Infusions and enrichments are a particular kind of upgrade component that is that is designed for non-amulet ascended and legendary equipment as well as the non-ascended back items. Infusions and enrichments can be recovered by salvaging gear from the ascended, or by completing an elite mission in the Prophecies, Factions and Nightfall campaigns.

A prefix or suffix may be added to an upgrade, changing the name of the item it is applied to (for example 'Canthan Armor Insignia,' is changed to Canthan Armor Minor Vigor). Certain upgrades boost the Mark Rarity or Level of an item, which lets players to create stronger versions of the item using less Upgrade crystals than they would need to reach the same level using standard methods.

A boost upgrade is a way to alter the defense or attack attributes of a weapon or armor. After the player has completed the cutscene and defeated Crazed Mechanist, these upgrades can be made at the Portative Forging Station. They can be dropped by enemies when upgrading other gear, or by purchasing them from the cash shop for 500 upgrade crystals per.

The player can get a maximum of five boost upgrades at one time; each upgrade increases the probability that a higher-tier version of the item will be available in the next reset. This gives players an incentive to upgrade their equipment even when they're not sure what will be improved following an update.

The process of upgrading an item can be expensive and it's possible that the item will eventually become obsolete, or even break, in the event that the upgrade is unsuccessful. Upgrade Crystals and assist powders are also destroyed when the upgrade fails. Cash shop items can be used to decrease or eliminate the risk of failure. Some upgrades also give an additional bonus when reinserted.

Glyphs

Glyphs are upgrade parts that can be inserted into special sockets on the Paragon Board. Glyphs buff the effectiveness of all nodes in a radius around them as well as existing affixes on equipment. Glyphs are upgraded in various ways, and we suggest getting them to level 15 whenever you can.

In the endgame you'll often discover that the most effective way to upgrade your equipment is to use Glyphs. They are the only upgrade components that can be upgraded up to level 15 and provide an enormous boost to your power on the Paragon Board.

Leveling

The upgrade system of items allows players to increase the stats of specific items by inserting upgraded components. This is commonly known as "upping". Every upgradeable item is assigned a level which determines the final stats. Upgraded items may be leveled up to a maximum level of 385. Each level of an item requires different components, and the cost of upgrading increase with each level.

Some upgrades require an ingredient to be activated. This ingredient is obtained by finishing Upgrade Recipes. These recipes can be found in the upgrade tab of a crafting table or bought from NPCs. Each Upgrade Recipe completed will result in a certain amount of Technology points. These points can be used to level up the item upgrades, and once enough points have been earned, the upgrade can be claimed and any additional bonuses will be added to the item.

When a player improves a piece of equipment it is replaced by a new item. This means that the same armor piece will get a weapon or shield when upgraded. The new item will come with a bonus of its own. This could be a drawback, as it can make the item more expensive if you don't require it.

Upgrades to items can be rerolled, provided that the player has enough tokens to be able to do this. This causes the item level upgrade to be exchanged for a new one, with a level 1 base and a completely different set of bonuses. This can be useful but it should not be repeated often since it can be a waste of resources.

Certain upgrades can boost their value and allow players to personalize their equipment. Dolphin's Gift is a good example, since it grants buffs when the player is repeatedly in or leaves the water. The item can be upgraded several times by increasing the maximum roll each time by 10 increments. This item is extremely useful in PvP battles, since an item that is properly rolled it could be worth between 20 and 50 times its non-upp'd value.

Requirements

The ability to upgrade items allows players to boost the quality of their equippable equipment - weapons, armor, and trinkets above ilvl 385--by providing the appropriate items and currencies to an NPC who upgrades items. Upgrades to armor set pieces also boost the defense base of the item, and upgrading weapon items will increase the base damage and required strength and dexterity to meet the upgraded equipment's requirements.

Each item can be upgraded a maximum of five times, with the exception of hero gear that can be upgraded up to eight times. Every each time you upgrade an item, it is given an opportunity to fail. The failure rate increases the farther you go beyond the maximum number of upgrades. Failures can cause the item to return to its original state and the player having to purchase more items than if they stopped upgrading after the maximum amount.

If an item is not upgraded, the experience bar in its growth bar will be reset to zero. The item will also lose any bonuses it earned, such as the chance to crit, attack damage, or other effects (such as a higher healing rate over time, or the speed of reloading). The player is able to use their weapon or armor after the failure.

When an item is upgraded the upgrades are applied from the lowest to the highest. This means that when a weapon gains an increase in crit chance, the increase is applied prior to any increase in attack damage. A new attribute known as Slots has been added to the definition of the item and the value is calculated every time an upgrade is applied.

The amount of resources required to upgrade an item is based on the rarity rating and number of upgrade slots. The cost for upgrading non-premium items is equal to the base value of the upgrade--for instance, a typical equipment item could have five upgrades, each costing 25600 Technology Points, 4x Quality Improvement Chance. Hero quality items have a lower cost per upgrade.

Premium items have different upgrade requirements than standard gear--for instance, they may require fewer sowels, but more minerals and erons. The player will still need to bring every piece of gear they want to upgrade to the NPC [ArmorBoboko. Boboko located in Central Flarine. Each equipment upgrade requires different amounts of upgrade ingredients in addition to the expenses that are listed above.
