iRobot Vacuum and Mop Review

Unlike some robot vacuums, this one isn't afraid of taking on the stairs. Like any mop or vacuum, it is susceptible to getting blocked by particles, like tennis shoes, jewelry, thread or other loose objects.

The iRobot Home App allows you to label rooms, and create no-go zones. It also lets you track your mops's progress and battery status.

iRobot Combo j7+

The Combo J7+ is part of iRobot's mop and robotic vacuum line-up and combines the robotic cleaner's smart mapping capabilities along with the ability to deal with spills. It has the same acoustic sensor onboard and iAdapt 2.0 Navigation as other Roomba models and maps your home seven times faster than previous versions. It also lets you set Keep Out Zones (for rooms which the robot should not enter) and Clean Zones (for rooms it is required to keep clean).

The robotic arm is the most important feature of the J7. It keeps the mop pad hidden when not in use and lowers it for carpeting or hard flooring. The concept is to prevent spraying water on the rug and the Combo j7+ does very well during my tests. The quietest robot vacuum was not able to walk across the rug, even though I moved it around a few times.

The arm is equipped with a 240mL tank, that is easily removed and filled. This makes it much easier to use as opposed to the mop pads that are found on many other 2-in-1 robotic arm. It also makes use of the iRobot's PrevisionVision obstacle avoidance technology, which is more advanced than other systems of this type.

iRobot Combo i5

This multitasker can mop and vacuum in one machine. iRobot has built in the ability to detect household clutter, including cords, shoes, toys and bags. It will then automatically pause and return to its base to dock and recharge and complete the cleaning task at a later point. It is also compatible with voice commands such as Amazon Alexa, Apple Siri and Google Assistant, understanding around 600 voice commands - far more than any other 2-in-1 best budget Robot Vacuum.

iRobot Combo j5

This robot vacuum and mop from iRobot is a good option for homes with carpets and hard floors. It makes use of intelligent mapping and eliminates obstacles to ensure that it cleans efficiently. iRobot Combo i3

The iRobot Combo i3 is an updated version of the Roomba i3. It comes with the same external dirt compartment as well as it also has a HEPA filter to keep allergens out, but now it also supports smart mapping. You can now create no-go areas to prevent the vacuum from vaccuming these areas repeatedly. The i3 Plus still has a number of other great features, including its advanced cleaning system with 10x power-lifting suction and a three-stage cleaning process. The i4 is also less invasive in terms of maintenance requirements, incurs lower costs for recurring maintenance and has a longer runtime in its least powerful suction mode than the i7.
