WoW Upgrades - The item upgrade Upgrader

Upgrades give you an increase in specific statistics. Each upgrade boosts the level of an item upgrading by 3. Each upgrade also increases a random substat.

The more modernized gear generally has a more value in trade as long as it meets low requirements (like the FB shield of the sorc) or a very high stat variation (like eth titan weapons). The latter are less valuable from upgrading due to the necessity to roll for a perfect model.

Recycle Points

The item upgrader allows players to upgrade their gear by giving the currency to an NPC. Upgrades can be applied to any kind of armor or weapon. However, the item that is used to upgrade will be consumed for the duration of time and can't be used again. Upgrades can be applied to the enchantments.

The upgrader can be found in every major city, and can be visited anytime to upgrade your equipment. To keep your gear up-to-date it is recommended that you visit the upgrader every few weeks.

Upgrades will cost more depending on the level of the item, however, they are always cheaper than buying new equipment. For instance, upgrading a Benthic chest to ilvl 385 will cost 20 recycle points purchasing a similar piece from another player will costs 105.

Valorstones

Upgrades are items that can be used to upgrade weapon, armor, tool, and accessory upgrades. They can be purchased by players from NPCs that sell upgrades to items in exchange for various currencies, and may also be found in random treasure lists. Once purchased, an upgrade can be used on any weapon, tool or armor. The button will show the preview of an item's next level of upgrade, when there are enough materials.

Upgrade costs differ based on the slot of the item upgrader mod and the current item level. For instance weapons are more expensive than gloves, bracers, or bracers. Each upgrade costs 15 Flightstones plus a set number of crests. Certain upgrades provide discounts on Flightstones. Once an Item Level upgrade is upgraded to a certain amount, it can be downgraded and sold to the upgrader for a lower price.

Many locations offer Best item upgrade upgraders in addition to the main island and a few outposts. The NPCs offer both an upgrade discount as well as a chance to obtain a new upgrade recipe. The upgrade discount increases according to the number of items being upgraded. It is also possible to be increased by having players complete specific achievements or quests.

Crests

When it comes to upgrading gear in WoW, players have a couple of options. Flightstones are an option that is accessible to all players for upgrading. Crests are more special and are used for specific item upgrades level upgrades. Crests are a key element of the Dragonflight gear progression system introduced in 10.1, and come in 4 ranks.

The first thing to note is that crests are only able to be spent on gear of a specific rank, and that every rank has different requirements for its upgrade path. This change is intended to allow players to upgrade their equipment to the highest possible ilvl on all their characters instead of relying on seasonal loot.

Another important modification is that crests have one usage therefore it's essential to use them properly. It is recommended to use your Whelpling-rank crests on the highest-quality gear you can locate and keep Drake and Wyrm Crests for the next round of upgrades. This is particularly true for items such as trinkets and rings that take up several slots. The discount on the account will only apply when all slots on the character are filled with high-quality equipment.
