In our tests the j7+ performed quick to remove dust, dirt and pet hair. The rubber brushes that counter-rotate kept the debris in its place instead of scattering it across the floor. It even managed to catch small gravel and sand, which most other robots aren't able to do. It did all of this without getting caught in our pet's shedding hair.

The j7+, although not as sophisticated as the Roomba S9, which costs $1,217+ Self-Emptying Vacuum from iRobot, and can't clean the stairs, it's a good option for those who require both mopping and vacuum. It's not expensive and the iRobot App makes it simple to use.

The iRobot Home App is easy to use, however we found it less reliable than other robotic vacuum cleaner reviews cleaner apps. It can take a while to download updates, and at times it's difficult to tell if the update is actually working until you see it in action.

2. Roborock Q5+

If you are looking for a robot vacuum cleaner that does more than just clean smart robot your floors A hybrid is the best choice. These robots come with a water tank, so they can mop and vacuum at the same time. The negative is that they tend to be pricey at full retail, but on Black Friday and Cyber Monday they often drop in price.

Roborock is one of our most loved robot vacuums and the Q5+ is no exception. This is their least expensive auto-empty model, and while it doesn't have certain features that are found on more expensive models (like no-go zones and vacuum deals multi-story memory) it's still an excellent option if you're willing sacrifice a little to save some hundred dollars.

The Q5+ is notably soft around obstacles like table legs and walls, which makes it a good option for homes with a lot of furniture. It is also very thorough in cleaning dust bunnies. This is an area that many cheaper robot vacuums aren't able to meet. The Q5+'s navigation system is top-quality, with a few misses along walls or in corners.

Like other Roborock devices like the Q5+, the Q5+ can be controlled by the buttons on the device itself or through the Roborock app. The app allows you to start and stop cleaning. You can also set schedules, create virtual barrier and no-go areas and alter your home map, or change the room's label.

If you choose the Q5+ it comes with a new auto-emptying dock that's designed to make the robot easier to maintain. It requires a screwdriver for install, but once in place, emptying the bin is relatively simple. It also has a large LCD display which is great to have when you're creating schedules or changing settings. This feature isn't required for everyone, but it can help easily keep the robot's maintenance schedules.

3. Narwal Freo X Ultra

The Freo X Ultra robot vacuum and mop is a smart well-rounded vacuum and mop. It's capable of mopping and vacuuming. Its design and functionality are among the most advanced available - but it's also pricey.

It's a small base station that looks beautiful and can be hidden when not in use. The station's main selling point is the fact that it automates a variety of tasks, chores and functions that other robots have to leave to you. It can store clean and dirty water, and then electrolyze and heat the water. Many other robots require you to perform this.

Its vacuuming is also impressive. It's one of the only robovacs that I've tried that does a really good robot vacuum job of cleaning up debris from bare floors, and it's not nearly as loud as the more expensive Roomba 980 or iRobot the 900 series.

The Freo X Ultra is not free of faults, especially when it comes navigation. The laser and LiDAR sensors aren't as reliable as other robovacs. This means it can get stuck or confused in certain areas of the house. It's not able to climb stairs as well as some competitors, either and doesn't come with a dock that allows you to create an exclusive cleaning zone for carpets with plush padding.

The Freo X Ultra robot vacuum and mop is a great choice for those who want a vacuum robot that can do it all.

However, if you're looking to save some cash or simply don't care about the limitations of this robot, there are plenty of other options on the market, including a lot of eufy models for significantly less. The Eufy Qrevo curv, for instance is a bit more expensive and has many more features, like the ability to climb stairs and a full-function Dock, that provides an improved overall experience when vacuuming on floors that are unfinished carpets, low-pile carpets as well as high-pile carpets.

4. Eufy RoboVac G30

Eufy is an Anker company that has a long history of creating robot robotic vacuums that have the right combination of performance, features, and price. The G30 Hybrid offers a powerful cleaning on hard and carpet flooring, and mopping functions at an affordable price. It's easy to set it up, just snap on one of the side brush and turn it on, then connect the charging dock. The app will guide you through the steps to connect your G30 to your Wi-Fi. You'll need to leave the dock close to an electrical outlet and ample space for it to move around however.

The G30 is a compact device, measuring 2.85 inches in height, which means it will fit under most couches and pieces of low-clearance furniture. Its design is less ostentatious than some rival models, with sleek black finishes and three physical buttons: Auto Cleaning start/pause, Recharge and Spot Cleaning (which scrubs a space in an arc for two minutes). You can also connect the G30 to Amazon Alexa or Google Home to conduct cleaning without a schedule using voice commands.

The main aspect that makes the G30 apart from most competitors is the way it cleans. It uses a built-in mapping to create an image of the immovable objects it encounters, remembering what it's already cleaned and where it can't access. When it needs to recharge, it will automatically return to its base, and then resumes cleaning from where it began.

The eufy G30 has some flaws. The iRobot Roomba 675 is more built, incurs lower recurring expenses, charges faster and has a similar battery life. It also offers better performance on bare floors and carpets with low pile. It has a larger dust bin that doesn't require more emptying. It also has boundary strips that keep it from certain areas. The G30, on the other hand is less expensive and much easier to maintain. Its smaller size means that it doesn't have to be emptied as often and has less trouble with bulky materials such as cereal.
