The hinged lid can be lifted to reveal 350ml of dust bin and 200ml water tank. The water tank self-empties and the bin is auto-refilling.

The only issue I encountered to this model was that the VibraRise mop pads mount isn't removable. While you can swap out the mopping cloth (if it's required) however, it's a hassle to take off the mount for manual washing. I've found that any plush carpet that the robot vacuum cleaners uk passes will be in contact with the rough Velcro-like fastener mechanism on the mount, and that can cause scratches.

The S8 Pro Ultra is equipped with a range of intelligent features, including support for Google Home and Amazon Alexa. The Roborock app lets you manage and configure these smart features. But you'll need to jump through a few hurdles to enable voice control with this model which is unfortunate considering how well it performs otherwise.

It also lets the robot to reach under furniture that is low-profile which makes it a great option for smaller apartments and condos with tight spaces. The side brush automatically swivels downwards when it detects wet spots, which is a nice addition that assists the X40 avoid damaging floors with excessive back-and-forth movements.

Contrary to other robots which only focus on one task, the X40 can perform mopping and vacuuming simultaneously or in a series. It can also be programmed to eliminate areas with carpet and mop only hard floors, robot vacuum and vice versa. It can be controlled via the Dreame app or via Alexa, Siri, and Google Home for a seamless voice-controlled operation.

The app is user-friendly and easy to use, and the X40's smart features are simple to install. Users can program the X40 to clean at specific times. It can also be adjusted to adjust suction power, alter modes, view floor plans and maps, and manage mopping setting. The X40 can also track its progress and notify you when it's finished.

The X40 is easy to maintain and has many features that make it an excellent option for busy families. The docking station will automatically empty the dustbin, and clean the mop pads and refill them with fresh cleaning solution and water. It also can detect whether the mop pad has reached its capacity to the max and alert you to the situation prior to it bursting.

4. L20 Ultra

The L20 Ultra robot is one of the most expensive models available. It has many characteristics that make it stand out. Smart DuoScrub, which is a new feature of its mop heads, makes use of two mop heads with high-speed motors to scrub floors more thoroughly. It also has a suction force of 7,000Pa. This is much higher than the Roborock S8 Pro Ultra or Ecovacs Deebot T20 Omni and can clean pet hair and smaller dirt particles and also pick up spills and wet spots.

The mop is cleaned and dried at the base station each time they are used. This is a great feature because it stops mould and unpleasant odours from building up in the storage. It also makes the mop system more efficient. This is a system we've yet to see on other robot vacuums and mop models and could be a useful method of keeping your home clean for longer.

There's an impressive amount of settings available, including the ability to schedule cleaning and adjust a number of different preferences. These can be set via the app, or via buttons on the unit itself. The app is easy to use and offers a variety of options for customizing your cleaning routine. It also comes with many features that aren't available on other robots, like the Clean Genius Mode, which automatically increases suction when it detects any dust particles.

The L20 Ultra is also one of the most elegant robots we've seen on market, sporting metallic and white colors that looks elegant and classy. It's a bit heavier at 4kg than some of the other robots on this list however it's not a lot of weight. It is solid and well-built. The mopping system is well-designed and the double-rotating mop is great for hard floors or in corners. They can also extend up to 2mm of baseboards due to the MopExtend feature which is a nice feature.
