1. iRobot Roomba i3+ EVO

The i3+ EVO is identical to its sibling the i3 EVO. They differ only in the fact that the i3+ has self-emptying capabilities. The i3+ is a good option for those looking for a a fully automated, hands-off cleaning experience, but are willing to manually empty the dustbin of the robot sweeper once it gets full.

Both robots are good at removing surface dirt on carpets and hard floors and are able to move around furniture and other obstacles. iAdapt navigation software makes a smart map of your home to assist the i3+ to navigate and clean efficiently. However unlike the i7+ and other top robot vacuum cleaner rated robots we tested the i3+ does not have a feature for avoiding obstacles and therefore it could get stuck on things like power cords or socks, and it can have difficulty in navigating through transitions between surfaces, such as from hardwood to rug.

iRobot recommends clearing areas in which the i3+ EVO will vacuum before you use it, and include putting away any toys or clutter it may encounter. It's also recommended to keep the dust bin and filter clean so that they don't become clogged with dirt. If the i3+ EVO's internal bin is full or the battery is low, it returns to its docking station and automatically emptying its dirt into the station's dust bin and continues cleaning where it began. Battery life is about an hour and a half of continuous usage. It takes about three hours to fully charge.

2. iRobot i7+ Roomba

The iRobot i7+ is a top model from iRobot’s flagship line, and it comes with the most recent features. It has self-charging and self-navigating. However, the most important feature is its auto-emptying bin. This will eliminate the need for regular maintenance.

The Roomba I7+ can better map rooms with Imprint Smart Mapping. It also integrates with iRobot Home to schedule cleaning jobs, and you can direct your robot using the app or voice.

The i7+ is more efficient and clean Smart Robot more maneuverable in our tests than the eufy RoboVac G30. It also cleaned large pet hair pieces from any surface, including carpeting. The biggest benefit over the eufy it self-empties its dust bin, which eliminates a major cause of maintenance and reduces recurring costs.

We were also awestruck by the i7+’s compatibility with Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant AI services. We used these services to instruct the robot to start, stop, or pause cleaning sessions as well as move around the room and even vacuum a specific area. The iRobot Home App made it easy to connect the i7+ to these services. After being connected, to speak commands to the i7+, for example "Hey Alexa vacuum the master bedroom." The iRobot Home App also offers options to manage i7+ settings and evaluating the performance.

3. Dyson Cyclone V10

This tiny Dyson model is an athletic car in a world of vacuums with cords that feel like minivans and buses. It has the power and features to replace a stand-up vacuum for most households however, it can also fit perfectly next to a coffee table or on a bookshelf where you can wave it around like a magic device.

The V10 is powered by a seven-cell, high-energy lithium-ion battery that can provide fade-free power for 60 minutes. The sophisticated whole-machine filter system traps allergens, then releases cleaner air into your home. The cleaning head is specially designed to drive bristles made of nylon that are stiff into carpets to trap large crumbs and fine dust. It has three suction modes that can be adjusted to suit the task. It can quickly change from floor vacuum robot vacuum to handheld vacuum and vice versa.

This model comes with a dock that can charge the Dyson to 100 percent within 3.5 hours. It also provides an easy access to two attachments and the handheld. This is a huge improvement over earlier Dysons which require a long charge and are difficult to store.

The biggest issue with the V10 is its sluggish run time. Its marketing claims that it has up to 60 minutes of run time are misleading as CR's tests have shown. This is a typical and not a remarkable time to run a battery-powered cordless vac. This is enough time to sweep the typical home however, clean smart robot it's not enough time to get into every corner. (A second run usually works). That's not to say this model isn't a good choice: It's lighter and mobile than the older cordless Dysons, and its vacuuming performance is significantly better on low-pile carpet.

4. iRobot Roomba 694"

One of iRobot's most adored robot vacuums, the 694 is an entry-level model that's an excellent choice for people who don't want to invest too much on a robot. It's capable of sucking up all kinds of debris in our tests, and often passes over the same areas multiple times to give a thorough clean. Its flat front side helps it to reach into corners and along the walls' edges and walls, which is a nice touch.

Its intelligent navigation system makes use of iAdapt to stay clear of obstacles and navigate your home, but it's not equipped with the mapping capabilities of more advanced models like our top choices and the i3+ EVO and j7+ series. As a result, it can sometimes get stuck on things like phone cords and furniture that isn't in good condition, and frequently runs out of battery power before making it back to its home base.

The Xiaomi Mi robot vacuum is superior to the Roomba 694 in most respects, as it has fewer components that need regular cleaning and is equipped with an allergen-trapping HEPA filter, incurs lower recurring costs, comes with more advanced automation capabilities and is more efficient in moving itself. 5. Samsung Jet Bot AI+

Samsung is a brand is found on all kinds of home electronics So it's no surprise that they're one of the most popular mop and robot vacuum manufacturers. Their Jet Bot AI+ is loaded with cutting-edge onboard intelligence technology to aid in navigation and obstacles avoidance.

The app offers a variety of options for customizing your robotic cleaner. This includes virtual barriers, mopping levels and behavior adjustments docking frequency settings and many more. The app is easy to use and understand as are other Samsung devices.

In our tests, the Jet Bot AI+ performed well on hard floors. It cleaned up 86 percent of dog hair (on carpet). It did not do well in avoiding taller items such as socks or cords. This was disappointing. It's also more expensive than some of the other models we tried, which might be a deterrent for some buyers.

The smart vacuum comes with an onboard camera that you can access via the app. You can also set up a live streaming from the robot's cleaning station. The application also allows you to manually steer the robot if needed. For example, my living room rug has a darkly colored border that tends to trip up some of the other robots I've tested. However, the HRV 425BL kept moving across the border without registering it as a cliff. The ability to program a daily cleaning schedule for each week is a time-saving benefit.
