WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader

Upgrades provide a guaranteed boost to specific stats. Each upgrade boosts the level of an item level upgrade by 3. A random substat is also added to every upgrade.

The upgraded gear is usually more valuable, unless it has low requirements by nature (like FB sorc shields) or has a large variance in stats (like the eth Titan weapons). Upgrades are less useful for those with lower requirements due to the requirement to roll a perfect version.

Recycle Points

The item upgrader lets players upgrade their gear by giving the currency to an NPC. Upgrades can be applied on any type of armor or weapons. The item used to upgrade the item will be consumed and cannot be used again. Upgrades can be applied to the enchantments.

The upgrader is located in every major city, and can be visited at any time to upgrade your equipment. To keep your gear current it is recommended that you visit the upgrader every several weeks.

Upgrades will cost more depending on the item level, however they'll always be cheaper than buying new equipment. Upgrades such as upgrading a Benthic chest up to ilvl385 will cost you 20 recycle points. If you purchase a similar item, it will cost you 105.

Valorstones

Upgrades are useful items that can be used to improve the quality of weapons, tools, armor, and other accessories. They are purchased by players from NPCs that sell upgrades to items in exchange for different currencies, and can also be found in random treasure lists. Once an upgrade is purchased it can be used on any weapon or tool using an button, which will show an item's preview at the next upgrade level when the player has enough materials.

The cost of upgrades varies based on the slot of the item and the current item upgrades level, with weapons costing more than gloves or bracers, for instance. Each upgrade costs 15 Flightstones and a few crests, with some upgrades having a discount to lower the cost of the Flightstones or crests that are used. Once an item is upgraded to a certain degree it is able to be downgraded and sold to the upgrader at a lower price.

A lot of locations offer upgraders for items, including the main Island and item level upgrade some outposts. The NPCs offer both an upgrade discount as well as a chance to acquire a new upgrade recipe. The discount on upgrades increases according to the number of items being upgraded. It can also be increased by having players complete some specific achievements or quests.

Crests
