Volvo Key Fob Troubleshooting

Volvo drivers love the remote control capabilities of their key fob. They can lock and unlock their vehicle and start the engine, and even locate it using a smartphone application.

Then, place the fob of the key on an even surface, with the logo facing upwards. Find the button that releases it, place an object between the cover and the fob and pull it up slowly.

Locking the Door

Press and hold the unlock button on your Volvo remote control for four seconds. This will lower the windows and the sunroof if you have one. When you're finished with the vehicle, you can shut all the windows by pressing the lock button again for Volvo Key Fobs four seconds.

You can also use the key fob to activate your car's panic alarm. It will emit an ominous sound that will draw attention to the car and deter thieves. It also helps you to get home safely in the event that you've been away all night. Opening the Tailgate

Volvo's key fob is stuffed with useful features. They are ideal when you're overwhelmed with groceries or helping kids pack their sports equipment after practice.

Turning off the Alarm

Modern key fobs are more useful than a traditional car key. They aren't always working perfectly and batteries may die. If you're in a hurry and don't want to visit a store to have your key fob reset, you can attempt to get it to work at home.

Find a clean surface and lay out your key fob, battery, and extra keys. Place the key fob in a place with the Volvo logo facing up, then locate a small black button to the bottom left of the fob. Slide it down and to the right. The cover will begin to loosen and fall off leaving the key's mechanical blade underneath it.

You can open all the doors and the reargate by pressing the unlock button on the key fob two times. By pressing the lock button for 2 seconds, you can close the windows and shut the sunroof in the event that they're equipped. Reconnect the battery and the alarm should stop. If it doesn't work, the owner's manual should include a method to reset the system.
