The Babyzen Yoyo stroller is a great option if you're on a tight budget and do not need a stroller which can also be used as car seat carrier. It comes with a flip-flop-friendly one-step footbrake.

It's simple to push, and it feels solid when you are navigating kerbs and woodland paths. It's also a breeze to fold.

1. Babyzen YOYO2

The Babyzen YOYO2 has earned itself a reputation as the most lightweight single buggy for city dwellers and jet-setters alike, due to its super nimble manoeuvrability and fold that fits in the overhead luggage of aeroplanes. This latest version features independent suspension on all four wheels comprised of Hytrel elastomer, which allows it to 'perfectly traverse all terrains and types'.

The base YOYO2 frame with a curved fabric bassinet as well as a six-month colour pack come together to form a stylish pushchair that's easy to look at, with a subtle but elegant aesthetic and tasteful branding. The base frame alone weighs just over a kilogram and is so light you can lift it directly from the box (and do it using one hand).

It's also simple to add or remove adaptors or attachments - the hood, for example, snaps onto the YOYO2 by clicking - as well as being machine washable at 30 degrees to prevent staining from rice cakes that have been smashed and half-dissolved carrot puffs. It can be used as a pram from birth with the Newborn Pack or bassinet, or converted to a single standing stroller from 6 months using the YOYO Connect additional chassis.

2. Evenflo Pivot Xplore

Evenflo Pivot Xplore stroller wagon is a great choice for parents seeking a versatile stroller. It transforms from a stroller into a wagon by simply flipping the handle, which means parents can pick which mode they prefer on their journey. The wagon can accommodate one or two children from 6 months old to 5 years old, and it has a wide storage basket that can accommodate everything you need on the go.

The Xplore also features dual canopies that rotate from front to back, ensuring ample sun protection for all family members. It also has a footwell that is not as deep or large as other wagons, so it might not be comfortable for long trips or napping.

The frame of the Xplore feels solid and sturdy, although it does not have the same flex as some of the other wagons we tried. It is also more difficult to fold than many of the competition and it doesn't secure when folded. It is easy to move however, and fits through narrow doors of 28 inches.

3. Delta Children LX Side-by-Side

This Delta Children bare-bones travel stroller is a great choice for parents who are seeking a second stroller that's affordable. It scored a dazzling score in our Strollers & Multiples test for weight and folded size which means it's light, compact when folded and easy to lift into a car trunk or closet. It also comes with an adjustable recline seat that can be adjusted in multiple positions and cup holders for the parent. Other important features include two large storage bags that hang from the ceiling and 360-degree front wheels that absorb shock.

It did better in our push and turn test than many of the other strollers we tested but is nonetheless difficult to maneuver on uneven ground or through narrow doors. Its sunshades are among the smallest we tested, offering only direct overhead coverage and no windows that peek out. The UPPAbaby G-Link 2 has a much larger canopy.

It took us less than three minutes to put together the Delta with a standard manual. The parts are all non-required and required tools. But, it's lacking some essential features that we believe you should consider non-negotiable for a double stroller like a large basket, and reclining seats with adjustable leg rests.

4. Maxi-Cosi Zelia 2-in-1

The Zelia is Maxi-Cosi’s newest pushchair, and is advertised as an urban travel system. It is suitable from birth until 3.5-years-old. The carrycot and seat can be easily converted in only a few clicks. It can be used with Maxi-Cosi capsule car seats and comes complete with the lightweight Mico 30 infant car seat, a stay-in-car base and a reversible baby carriage.

The seat can be reclined using one hand and the large shopping basket makes it easy for parents to take their child in and out. The narrow pushchair sailed through everyday bumps and doorways with ease.

The front wheels can be locked in forward positions or let them swivel which is helpful when traversing rough terrain. We let the front wheels to rotate on our walk along a stony path. It was able to handle this well, though it did seem a little rougher.

5. Baby Jogger City Tour 2,

Baby Jogger is best known for its 3-wheeled all-terrain strollers that jog. But they also make a broad range of 4-wheeler pushchairs. City Tour 2 is their most well-known model. It folds easily and fits into the trunk of a car even with a carrycot attached.

It's a little heavier than other strollers we test, but the wheels are rubber composite so it feels well-made and durable. It's a breeze to maneuver across all kinds of terrain, and it's also a breeze to lift, even when loaded with two kids and shopping bags.

The seat and carrycot both have hoods with pull-down UV50+ sun canopy extensions. They are durable and waterproof, in contrast to other hoods for prams that can be blown back onto toddlers' faces.

It does not have much storage space, but it comes with a large, deep basket to hold a change bag or a large amount of groceries. It can also be connected with the Baby Jogger infant car seat to create a travel system for babies as big as 20 lb (car seat and adapters sold separately). If you require a stroller that can be taken on the road, then the City Tour 2 is an ideal choice.

6. Nuna Mixx Next

When the Nuna Mixx first appeared on the scene, it instantly captured the hearts of parents everywhere. It's an aluminium framed stroller that can see you through your baby's first years and beyond. It's got a lot of standout features, such as the capacity of the seat to flip between parent and world facing and a huge UPF50+ canopy with a flip-out eyeshade, and an adjustable handlebar.

The chassis comes with a suspension system built-in that reduces the impact of bumpy terrain. The wheels are constructed from tough foam and minimise punctures. Our tester found it smooth to push and was able to maneuver it through narrow streets with ease.

It locks automatically and folds in just four steps. It can also be rolled and raised for easier transport down the stairs or in the boot of the car. The travel system is available with the option to add an additional car seat or carrycot by using the adaptors included. The brakes come with only one action and are color coded. They also work with flip-flops.

7. Babyzen Duet

This budget pushchair is easy to use and has an excellent dual suspension. It can be folded with one hand and comes with a convenient carrying strap. It's also super lightweight and robust. The seat can be reclined into many different positions. It also has a double-breathable mattress that is suitable for infants.

The canopy/seat comes with two large sun visors, which can be fixed or removed. Both are UPF50+. However, the toggle closure isn't great it's not as quiet as Velcro and could wake sleepy babies.

The Duet is an angled single stroller with bench seat that can be used for twins or siblings. (Up to 22kg per seat). It can be used with two infant car seat and some carrycots. In twin mode, the seats can face each other or can be turned around to face parents, theoretically cutting down on sibling fights over who should sit with dad and mom. It comes with a large bottle holder, gear tray as well as snack trays and a change mat. It also has a compact stand fold and automatic frame lock.

8. Baby Jogger Urban Glide 2.

The Thule Urban glide 2 is a great stroller for parents who like to be active. It's one of the lightest running strollers that you can purchase for your child and offers excellent safety features such as five-point harnesses and a secure wrist strap. It also features a twist hand brake which is distinct from the lever-type that is found on other models.

The seat is well-padded and offers a large area to sit in, but the depth of the seat is less than other joggers that we've tested (it's about 10"). The storage bin is encased with a zipper that keeps things secure. It can hold up to 10 lbs. It is enough for the majority of diaper bags.

The Urban Glide 2 isn't compatible with bassinets for infants or car seats as of yet, but you can use it right from the start by purchasing adapters for most seats by brands like BOB, Graco, Combi, Evenflo, Britax, and UPPAbaby. It folds compactly and takes between 5 and 10 minutes to put together with no tools. The manual is easy-to-understand and includes multiple languages.
