Robots That Vacuum and Mop

Robots that vacuum and clean provide the convenience of cleaning both dry and wet messes in one go and without the need to switch devices. They also can save space when compared to two separate units, especially in smaller living spaces.

A good combination bot will offer excellent navigation and obstacles avoidance. Find models that automatically empty their bins, refill their water tank and machine-wash their mopping pads with a dedicated dock.

1. Eufy S1 Pro

It's one of the easiest robots to set up that we've ever tested. Unpacking is simple and the quick-start guide will have you up and running in no time. It comes with the complete dust bag, water tank, and hard floor solution.

The S1 Pro is an incredibly powerful machine that can mop and robot vacuum vacuum well. The mops are spun at high speed and use 2.2 pounds (1kg of force) to swiftly take away pet hair, dirt and sticky dried spills. The vacuum has four power modes, a variety of brushes and attachments and a user-friendly app that lets you choose the kind of cleaning you'd like to have for each room.

For instance, you can decide to let the robot take care of a thorough clean-up in the living and kitchen but go easy on the spare bedroom. The S1 Pro's front collision sensors and its smart navigation technology are also excellent as the robot is capable of detecting tiny obstacles that other models struggle with. Its only minor issue is that it can crash into walls and objects at a high speed, but an instant glance at the history of cleaning within the app will show you exactly what it's doing as well as where it's heading and what obstacles it's run into or avoided.

The docking station comes with an LCD display that indicates the need for maintenance, such as emptying debris and cleaning the dirty water tank. It can also mix detergent into the tank in a controlled manner with a 600ml of eufy solution.

Both the S1 Pro vacuum and mop come with plenty of running time as well, with the mop being able to operate for up to 184 minutes in quiet mode, and the vacuum able to do 136 minutes in standard mode before having to recharge or return to the base to refill. The app is easy to use and intuitive, allowing you to view all the details of the cleaning.

2. Roborock S8 Pro Ultra

The Roborock S8 Pro Ultra is the latest version of the company's flagship robot mop and auto vacuum and mop. Unlike last year's model, this one features a double agitator in its mopping pad, which greatly improves carpet cleaning capabilities. The S8 Pro Ultra also has an improved suction capacity, allowing it to pick up small hairs and other particles that other robotic cleaner and mop cleaners might overlook.

The Roborock model, like the other two I tested it has infrared and a reactive 3D obstacle avoidance technology that helps it get around obstacles like walls, furniture and other obstacles. However, the S8 Pro Ultra takes things a step further by incorporating a dual camera that can detect objects and decide whether they're an object that is a wall or a different surface. It can then change its path in a way that is automatic and clean around them without stumbling.

It's the most expensive of the three models I've reviewed, however, it's also the most loaded with features. Its sleek angular design is eye catching, and it only has three buttons that are physically accessible. The power button, which also restarts the cleaning process mop button, which doubles as a child-lock, and a home-button to send the robot to its dock. Lifting the hinged lid, you will find a 350ml dust bin and 200ml water tank. The water tank automatically empties and the bin fills up automatically.

The only downside I've found with this model is that its VibraRise mop pad mount isn't removable. You can replace the mopping cloth if needed, but it's difficult to remove the mount for washing manually. I've found that any plush carpet the best rated robot vacuum crosses will come into contact with the rough Velcro-like fastener mechanism on the mount, and that can cause scratches.

The S8 Pro Ultra has a number of smart capabilities, including support for Google Home, Amazon Alexa and Siri. You can set up and manage these through the Roborock app, which is also home to its maps and advanced mopping settings. The app also allows you to schedule cleanings and monitor battery life and component maintenance. You'll have to go through a few steps to enable voice control on this model. This is a shame considering the performance otherwise.

3. Dreame X40

The Dreame X40 is an industry-leading robot vacuum and mop that has incredible suction power, sophisticated mowing capabilities, and innovative features. Its innovative design lets you to personalize and efficiently clean while reducing time.

The X40 robot vacuum cleaner is the first to offer 12,000 Pascals cleaning power. It is among the most powerful options available. This powerful vacuum removes dry mess, including pet hair and food particles. It also comes with a high-quality mop that makes hard floors sparkling clean, even with a wet pad. Additionally the X40 is extremely quiet during operation, only producing occasional bursts of sound when switching modes or completing self-maintenance tasks.

Another noteworthy characteristic is the X40's extendable and liftable side brush, that allows it to reach difficult-to-access corners and clean furniture such as table and chair legs. It also allows the robot to reach under low-profile furniture making it an ideal option for apartments or condominiums with small spaces. The side brush tilts automatically down when it detects wet spots. This is a wonderful feature that allows the X40 to avoid damaging floors by repeated back-and-forth movements.

In contrast to other robots that are restricted to a single task, the X40 can vacuum and mop at the same time. It can be programmed to mop only the hard floors, and skip carpeted areas, and reverse the process. It can be controlled through the Dreame app or with Alexa, Siri, and Google Home to ensure a smooth voice-controlled operation.

The app is user-friendly and easy to use and the X40's clever features are easy to set up. Users can program the X40 to clean at specific times, adjust suction power and mode, look at floor plans and mapping and manage mopping settings. The X40 will also monitor its progress, and alert you when it's done.

The X40 is easy to maintain and comes with many features that make it a great choice for busy families. The docking station automatically empty the trash bin into a 3.2 L bin, cleans the mop pads, then refills them with clean water and a cleaning solution. It can also detect whether the mop pad is at its maximum capacity and notify you of the situation before it overflows.

4. L20 Ultra

The L20 Ultra robot is one of the most expensive models available. It does have a number of characteristics that make it stand out. Smart DuoScrub is a brand new feature on its mops, uses two mop heads that are high-speed to scrub floors more thoroughly. It also has a suction force of 7,000Pa. This is much higher than that of the Roborock S8 Pro Ultra or Ecovacs Deebot T20 Omni, and it can clean pet hair and other small dirt particles in addition to removing spills and wet spots.

Its mops are also cleaned and dried inside the base station after each use. This feature is great as it keeps mould and unpleasant odours that can build up in the storage. It also makes the mop system more efficient. This is a feature that we haven't seen on other robot vacuum and mop models. It could be a great method to keep your home cleaner longer.

There's a wealth of options available, including the ability to schedule cleaning and alter a variety of preferences. These can be set via the app or there are buttons on the unit itself. The app is simple to use and has many options for customising your cleaning routine. It also has many features that aren't available on other robots, such as the Clean Genius Mode, which automatically increases suction when it detects dust particles.

The L20 Ultra has a stylish design with a white-and-metallic finish that looks elegant and sophisticated. It's a bit heavier than the other two-in-1 robots on this list - at 4kg however it's not overly heavy, and is sturdy and well-built. Mopping is well-designed and the double-rotating mop is great for hard floors or in corners. They can also extend up to 2mm of baseboards due to the MopExtend feature, which is a nice feature.
