Both the Q5 and Q7 Max Series get very high scores on our floor tests that test for bare floors They're also particularly adept in removing pet hair. 3. Roomba X40 from iRobot

This robot vacuum and mop combination has a sleek, circular design that looks more like a regular Roomba model than the boxy models from the competition. It is one of our most appealing looking robot vacuums. The latest model from iRobot is also its smartest. It comes with advanced features, like Enhanced Dirt Detection as well as future compatibility (another company's robot that can wash mop pads autonomously).

It's also the sole robot vacuum or mop that scored a perfect 10 out of 10 in our testing. This is thanks to a mix of modern sensors, including a restructured lighting system, a camera and multiple lasers. The X40 Ultra is also the only robot in our tests that can completely self-refill and empty its base station, and it boasts the industry's highest suction of 12,000Pa and self-cleaning mop pads.

The X40, like other iRobot products, is simple to use. It comes with an intuitive mobile app interface that integrates with Amazon Alexa and Apple HomeKit. The only real drawback is that it's an eerily noisy device that could be a problem if you run it in the morning before work or in the evening as you try to fall asleep.

It's also somewhat expensive, but it's not as expensive as the Ecovacs Omni or Roborock's S8 MaxV Ultra, both of which are similarly capable and look better. This is a two-in-one vacuum that's extremely powerful however it's going to cost you more and make more noise.

4. iRobot Roomba L20 Ultra

The L20 Ultra is the top-of-the line robot vacuum that vacuums and mops vacuum and mop. It has a number of advanced features that help you forget your chores. If you have a bigger home, you should consider selecting a robot that comes with zones or spot cleaning modes. This allows you to instruct the robot on which part of your home needs to be cleaned using the app or voice command. If you have a lot of furniture, a stair mode is also a good option. Finally the recharge and resume function that allows your robot vacuum to pick up right where it left off is great for busy families.

5. iRobot Roomba RX3
