Robots That Vacuum and Mop

Robots that clean and vacuum offer the convenience of cleaning both dry debris and wet messes in one time and without the need to switch between devices. They can also reduce space when compared to two separate units, especially in smaller living areas.

A good combination bot should be able to navigate well and have excellent obstacles avoidance. Look for models that automatically empty their bins, refill their water tank and machine-wash their mopping pads from the dock that is specifically designed for them.

1. Eufy S1 Pro

It's one of the easiest robots to set up that we've tested. Unpacking the S1 Pro is simple, and a quick-start guide will have you running with a clean, complete dust bag, hard floor solution and water tank in no time at all.

The S1 Pro is a powerful little machine that mops up a storm and also vacuums well. The mops spin at high speeds and can apply 2.2 pounds (1kg) of force, which makes short work of dirt, pet hair, and dried sticky spills. The vacuum cleaner comes with four power settings, a variety of attachments and brushes and an intuitive app which lets you choose the type of cleaning you want for each room.

You could, for instance, ask the robot vacuum that mops to clean the kitchen and the living room thoroughly but leave the bedroom in its own space. The S1 Pro's front collision sensors and its smart navigation technology are superb, with the robot cleaner with mop being capable of detecting small obstacles that other models struggle with. Its only drawback is that it can crash into walls and objects at full speed. However, an instant glance at the cleaning history in the app tells you exactly what it's doing and where it's headed and what obstacles it's avoided.

The docking station features an LCD display that shows the time when maintenance is required, such as emptying debris and washing the water tank that is dirty. It's also able to mix detergent automatically into the water tank with a 600ml bottle of eufy's own solution.

Both the S1 Pro mop and vacuum come with a long-running time. The mop can operate for 184 mins in Quiet Mode and the vacuum can run for 136 minutes in normal mode, prior to having to recharge or returning to the base. You can view the complete cleaning details within the app, which is clearly laid out and is easy to comprehend however we would have liked to be able to differentiate between a mop only vacuum and a vacuum/mop clean when examining a cleaned area in the cleaning history.

2. Roborock S8 Pro Ultra

The Roborock S8 Pro Ultra is the latest version of the company's flagship robot mop and vacuum. It's not like the model from last year it comes with two agitators in its mopping pad which greatly improves carpet cleaning capabilities. The S8 Pro Ultra also has an improved suction capacity, allowing it to pull up fine hairs and other debris that other robotic cleaners may be unable to pick up.

Like the other two Roborock models I've tested the S8 Pro Ultra has a reactive 3D obstacle avoidance and infrared technology that help to avoid furniture, Continue walls and other obstacles. But the S8 Pro Ultra takes things one step further by incorporating a dual camera that can detect objects and decide whether they're a wall or another surface. It will then automatically alter its direction and clean them without missing a beat.

This is the most expensive of the three models I've reviewed but it's also feature-packed. Its sleek, angular style is eye-catching and it has only three physical buttons that include the power button that also resumes cleaning; a mop button that doubles as a child lock and a home button to send the robot back to its dock. Lifting the hinged lid reveals 350ml of dust bin and 200ml water tank. The water tank is automatically filled and the bin fills up automatically.

The only issue I encountered with this model was that the VibraRise mop pads mount isn't movable. It is possible to replace the mopping cloth if needed, but it's difficult to take the mount off for washing manually. I've noticed that any carpet that the robot touches will come into contact with the rough Velcro like fastener system on the mounts, which could cause scratches.

The S8 Pro Ultra has a number of smart capabilities that include support for Google Home, Amazon Alexa and Siri. You can configure and manage these through the Roborock app, which is also home to its maps and advanced mopping settings. The app allows you to schedule cleanings and monitor battery life. You'll have to go through a few steps to enable voice control on this model. It's a shame considering the performance otherwise.

3. Dreame X40

The Dreame X40 robot vacuum and mop is an industry leader with its innovative features, top suction power and advanced mopping capabilities. Its clever design permits personalized and efficient cleaning, while saving you time.

The X40 is the first robotic vacuum cleaner to deliver 12,000 Pascals of cleaning power, which makes it one of the top alternatives available. This powerful vacuum can clear up pet hair, crumbs and other dry mess. It has a mop of high quality that cleans hard floors without using pads. Additionally the X40 is very quiet during operation, only producing occasional bursts of noise when switching between modes or performing self-maintenance tasks.

The X40 also comes with a side brush that is able to be extended and lifted. This lets it reach into corners that are hard to reach and clean furniture with curved edges like table and chair legs. It also allows the robot cleaner to access furniture that is low-profile, making it a great choice for small apartments and condos with tight spaces. The side brush automatically tilts down when detecting wet spots, which is a nice feature that helps the X40 avoid damaging floors with the frequent back-and-forth movement.

Contrary to other robots which solely focus on one task, the X40 can perform both vacuuming and mopping simultaneously or separately. It can also be programmed to skip areas with carpets and mop only hard floors, or vice versa. It can be controlled by the Dreame App or Alexa, Siri, or Google Home to ensure smooth voice-controlled operations.

The app is user-friendly and easy to use and the X40's intelligent features are a breeze to set up. Users can program the X40 to clean at certain times. They can also adjust suction power, alter modes, view maps and floor plans, and manage mopping settings. The X40 will also track its progress and notify you when it is finished.

The X40 is easy to clean and has many convenient features, making it a great choice for busy families. The docking station will automatically empty the dustbin, and clean the mop pads and refill them with cleaning solution and fresh water. It also can detect whether the mop pad is at its maximum capacity and alert you to the situation prior to it bursting.

4. L20 Ultra

The L20 Ultra is a high-end robot that is among the most expensive models available and comes with numerous extra features that set it apart. Smart DuoScrub, a new feature in its mop, utilizes two mop heads that are high-speed to scrub floors more thoroughly. It also has a maximum suction force of 7,000Pa. This is more than the Roborock S8 Pro Ultra and Ecovacs Deebots T20 Omni. It can also remove pet hair, dirt particles and pick up spills and dirt-stained spots.

The mop is also dried and cleaned inside the base station after every use. This is a great feature since it prevents the build-up of mould and unpleasant odours in storage, and it also makes the mop system more efficient. It's a system that has yet to be seen on other robot vacuum and mop models, and it could be a great way of keeping your home cleaner for longer.

There's a plethora of options available that include the ability to schedule cleaning and adjust a variety of preferences. The app lets you set these preferences or you can use the buttons on the device itself. The app is easy to use and provides a variety of options for customising the cleaning routine, and there are many functions that other robots don't include, for instance, the Clean Genius mode that automatically increases suction power whenever it detects dust particles rather than using an individual setting.

The L20 Ultra has a stylish design with a white-and-metallic finish that looks sophisticated and classy. It is a little heavier at 4kg than some of the other robots listed on this list, but it's still not a lot of weight. It feels solid and well-built. The mopping system is well designed, and the double rotating mop is great for hard floors or in corners. The MopExtend feature lets them reach even 2mm below the baseboards.
