For instance, you can choose to have the robot take care of a thorough clean-up in the kitchen and living rooms but be careful with the spare bedroom. The S1 Pro has excellent front collision sensors and smart navigation technology. It is able to recognize small obstacles that other models are unable to. The only issue it has is that it can hit objects and walls at a high speed, but a quick glance at the cleaning history in the app will tell you exactly what it's doing as well as where it's heading and the obstacles it's avoided.

A convenient LCD screen on the docking station shows you when maintenance tasks must be completed including emptying the debris tray, and cleaning the dirty water tank. It also mixes detergent into the tank in a controlled manner with a 600ml of eufy solution.

Both the S1 Pro vacuum and mop are able to run for a long time and the mop is capable of operating for up to 184 minutes in quiet mode, and the vacuum capable of running for 136 minutes in normal mode, before needing to recharge or return to the base to replenish. The app is easy to use and intuitive that lets you look at every aspect of the cleaning.

2. Roborock S8 Pro Ultra

The Roborock S8 Pro Ultra is the latest version of the company's flagship robot cleaner vacuum and mop. It's not like the model from last year this one has an agitator that doubles in its mopping pad which significantly enhances its carpet cleaning abilities. The S8 Pro Ultra also has enhanced suction power, which allows it to remove small hairs and other debris that other robotic cleaners may miss.

This Roborock model, just like the other two models I tested it has infrared and a reactive 3D obstacle avoidance technology to help it overcome obstacles like walls, furniture, and other obstacles. But the S8 Pro Ultra takes things an extra step by incorporating a dual camera that can recognize objects and determine whether they are an object that is a wall or a different surface. It is able to change its course in a way that is automatic and clean around them, without missing a step.

This is the most expensive of the three models I've reviewed however, it's also the most feature-packed. Its sleek and angular design is eye-catching and it only has three physical buttons which include the power button that also resumes cleaning; a mop-only button that doubles as a child lock and a home button to bring the robot back to its dock. The hinged lid can be opened to reveal a 350ml dustbin as well as a 200ml water tank. The water tank will empty itself and the bin is auto-filling.

The only downside I found in this model was the VibraRise mop pads mount is not removable. While you can swap out the mopping cloth (if necessary) but it's a challenge to take off the mount itself to wash it manually. I've noticed that any carpet that the robot touches will be in contact with the rough Velcro like fastener on mounts, which can cause scratches.

The S8 Pro Ultra is equipped with a variety of smart features that include support for Google Home and Amazon Alexa. You can configure and manage these using the Roborock app that is also home to its maps and advanced mopping settings. The app allows you to schedule cleanings, track the battery life and maintain your components. You'll have to go through some hoops to activate voice control on this model. It's a shame, considering how efficient it is otherwise.

3. Dreame X40

Users can program the X40 to clean at specific times, adjust suction power and mode, look at mapping and floor plans, and manage mopping settings. The X40 will also keep track of its progress, and alert you when it is finished.

The X40 is easy to maintain and comes with numerous features which make it a good choice for busy families. The docking station can automatically empty the dustbin, and clean mop pads before refilling them with cleaning solution and fresh water. It will also tell you if the mop pad has reached its maximum capacity and notify you of the situation before it overflows.

4. L20 Ultra

The L20 Ultra robot is one of the most expensive models available on the market. It has several characteristics that make it stand out. This is more than the Roborock S8 Pro Ultra and Ecovacs Deebots T20 Omni. It can also remove pet hair, small dirt particles, and clean up spills and dirty spots.

The mops are cleaned and dried in the base station each time they are used. This is a great feature because it prevents the build-up of mould and unpleasant odours in storage, and also makes the mop system more efficient. This is a system we've yet to see on other robot vacuums and mop models and could be a useful method to keep your home clean for longer.
