The power button, Robots That Vacuum and Mop which also resumes the cleaning mop function, a button for cleaning that doubles up as a child-lock, and a home-button to take the robot to its dock. Lifting the hinged lid reveals a 350ml dust bin and 200ml water tank. The water tank automatically emptys and the bin automatically refills.

The only issue I encountered with this model was that the VibraRise mop pads mount is not removable. While you can replace the mopping cloth (if it's required), it's a pain to remove the mount itself to wash manually. I've noticed that any plush carpet the robot crosses will be in contact with the Velcro-like fastener system on the mount, and that could cause abrasions.

The S8 Pro Ultra has a number of smart features that include support for Google Home, Amazon Alexa and Siri. You can manage and set up these using the Roborock app, which is also the home of its maps and advanced mopping settings. The app allows you to plan cleanings and monitor the battery's lifespan. However, you'll need to jump through a few hurdles to enable voice control on this model which is unfortunate considering the quality of its performance.

3. Dreame X40
