The Eufy S1 Pro

This is the model you should select if you're looking for an automatic vacuum cleaner that can also mop. It's smaller than other models which makes it more maneuverable in tight spaces or under furniture. It has a 220 degree Lidar that, when combined with the 3D Matrix Camera System, provides some of the best navigation and avoidance capabilities I've seen in the form of a robotic vacuum. It has a hefty 4600mAh battery which lasts up to 170-minutes if mopping and Automatic Vacuum Cleaner suction are set to standard mode (it can run longer in turbo). It will even return to its dock to recharge its battery during the cleaning.

It's quick and does a great job of cleaning my two-bedroom apartment. It vacuums carpeted rooms quickly, and hardwood floors in the living room, kitchen and hallways in just one sweep. The suction motor's 8,000pa makes short work of picking up dirt, crumbs and pet hair. Carpet detection automatically boosts power when it encounters rugs and the two side brushes help pull away debris from corners.

The mopping efficiency, while still impressive, isn't as effective. The mop rotates at a high speed and it pushes down with 2.2lbs of force, effortlessly cleaning up dirt and stains. I've noticed that the front arm sticks out a little more than other robots. This is helpful when getting into narrow corners or along baseboards. The same front arms can also be employed to clean larger pieces of debris, such as broken toys or books.

The S1 Pro is also one of the quietest robot mops and vacuums I've tested. It is quieter and doesn't create more noise when mopping or vacuuming. The S1 Pro is only limited by the fact that it has to utilize a specific mopping solution and is sold separately. It's easy to install and performs well however, this is something that you'll need to keep an eye on in case you're purchasing this vacuum solely for the purpose of mopping.

The Roborock Q Revo

The Q Revo is different from other robot vacuums in its class. It is a powerful machine for cleaning with a range of features.

It's a little old-fashioned to have separate modules for vacuuming and mopping, but it does mean that you don't need to worry about changing out disposable bags or refilling the tank with water.

The Matrix Plus performed well at both vacuuming as well as mopping. Its best feature is its accurate floorplan map, which it uses when cleaning. This made it easy for the Matrix Plus to navigate around furniture rug, furniture, and other obstacles. The app lets you create 'No-Go Zones' and virtual barriers to stop certain areas from being cleaned by mopping.

We also noticed that the Matrix Plus did surprisingly well at picking up hair from pets. It was able to capture an enormous amount of hair shed by our cats and even got into the nooks and crevices of our stairs which other robots struggled. It was relatively quiet and even had some nice jingles that signalled when it was about to start or finishing its work.

The app was too basic and you had to alter the modules every time you changed between mops and vacuuming. The app isn't able to hold multiple maps, which can be a problem if you have a home with a mix of floors. The Matrix Plus is a good option for those who want an intelligent robot that is capable of vacuuming and mopping.

The Yiko X1 Omni

The X1 Omni is the most expensive robot vacuum that can be found in our review, however it has some unique features that make it worth considering. The X1 Omni is most well-known for its huge dock that doubles as an charging base for the robot, a sink for cleaning and two 4-liter water tanks. It also houses a 2.5-liter dust bin as well as a 2.5 dust bin that is 2.5 liters.

The base also comes with a set of control buttons that allow you to manually start cleaning robot mop and vacuum, recall the robot mop, or use the dock's automatic emptying process. Hold down two of the buttons to toggle the child lock, which is a nice option for parents concerned about kids tinkering with the vacuum.

Similar to other robotic vacuums, the Omni Omni uses its camera to identify furniture and obstacles in its path and eliminate them. Its True Mapping 2.0 navigation system can map your home 10 times faster than conventional laser detection systems and is four times more accurate at recognising objects.

Unfortunately this means that the X1 Omni can occasionally become so entangled with obstacles, like a power cord draped across a rug, that it gets stuck and stops working until you remove it manually. This is a rare event however, it was a bit frustrating since the X1 does not have a "stuck status" alert in its app.

Another possible issue is one of the biggest drawbacks is X1 Omni's inability to automatically switch between mopping and vacuuming modes during the cleaning process. You'll have to manually switch between the two modes, which isn't that bad however, mopping pads don't get washed or dried between uses. This can lead to mildew and mold.

The X1 Omni looks great, thanks to the Jacob Jensen design team (of Bang & Olufsen fame), who created its sleek modern base and mopping pad. It's a significant contrast to the utilitarian, black bases of competitors like Roborock and iRobot and a pleasing sight in a space that is dominated by clunky boxes and clunky models.
