Path of Exile Item Upgrading

Players can upgrade their weapons and equipment with new accessories. They can also increase the base stats of the item or provide additional benefits. To upgrade items, players must have the Best item upgrade in their inventory, and also access the kiln.

Items with weak bases, such as rings can be upgraded to more robust bases. Items with strong bases, like the Titans of eth have little change in their stats.

Upgrade components

Upgrade components can be incorporated into trinkets, armor, weapons and gathering tools, providing an attribute bonus or extra effect when the equipment is being used. They can be purchased from vendors, retrieved as loot by enemies, or obtained from missions and chests. Some upgrades have additional cosmetic effects. Most upgrades require that the equipment be at a certain level before you can upgrade.

In order to upgrade a weapon or piece of armor, the player must select it, and then click the Upgrade button on the toolbar. This will display on the right-hand side of the screen a preview of the expected upgrade stats as well as the necessary component or materials.

There are three types of upgrade components including universal upgrades, prefix upgrades, and suffix upgrades. Universal upgrades, which include gems, are able to be used in any type of equipment, and offer lower bonuses than upgrade components that are type-restricted. Infusions, which can only be placed in gear that is ascended and legendary equipment are similar to gems, but offer higher bonuses and cannot be used in any other type of equipment. Suffix upgrades that can be put in gathering tools, add their names to the end of the name of the item they are attached to, for instance adding a Glyph to an item upgrader kit that is a Staff Wrapping of Minor Vigor will change it to a Canthan Staff Wrapping of Minor Vigor.

If a player upgrades a gathering tool, and replaces the glyphs with a different one, the old one will be returned to their inventory. If you replace another upgrade component with a glyph, it will be destroyed, except for inscriptions, which are able to be swapped.

Leveling

The upgrade system in Path of Exile has some important differences from earlier versions. Gear is now categorised in tracks and each item can be upgraded so many times before it's "leveled out." The upgrade costs increase with each level, but the materials needed do not. This lets players focus their efforts on a few important items to maximize their impact instead of spreading upgrade costs across multiple items.

When an item upgrader mod (one-time offer) is leveled out and is leveled out, it will be able to receive an upgrade set of components, as well as an increase in the likelihood that the upgrade will succeed. This bonus is called the Artisan's Energy. It resets at 0 if the upgrade fails, or increases if the upgrade succeeds.

Once a piece is upgraded to its highest level it is able to receive affixes that will boost its attributes. The number of affixes available will depend on the item's type. If an item is not able to reach its max level the NPC will offer the player the option to transfer it to a different character and then re-infuse it with an upgrade set that is different. This process can take up to two hours and cost the same amount of materials. However it has a lower rate of success.

Engineers may utilize a level to compare the height of the building with an established point, such as the benchmark. This process is called a "level loop." It involves taking readings with the level, backsighting rod, and then turning the level to take the foresighting rod reading. This method ensures that structures are built to an extremely high degree of precision and safety.

Rerolling

Rerolling is the process of changing the upgrade components of an item. It is a crucial aspect of the game and can drastically enhance an item's strength or damage, as well as other characteristics. Each upgraded item could have a unique, fixed-value bonus that increases its power by a specific percentage. These bonuses are added to the regular affixes. The more you upgrade your product, the greater the chance of receiving a unique bonus.

The game also includes a number of sets, that offer a set-based bonus when three or more upgraded items from the same set are placed on a unit. This is a great method to add a lot of power to a character without spending an excessive amount of money.

Sets

Another reason for upgrading certain items is to bring them up to parity with their tiers. The Immortal King Set, for instance, is a huge range of levels, ranging from 29 to 75. Upgrading lower-level set items can increase their defense and make them more competitive in terms of damage.

To determine if an item is worth upgrading, players can click the Upgrade button in the character screen. The item will be displayed with its attributes, along with the items needed to upgrade it.
