How to Upgrade Gear in World of Warcraft

Upgrade components are items that can be put into armor, weapons, and trinkets in order to increase stats or effects. These items can be purchased in the item upgrader for small amounts of gold, or obtained by dropping them from karma vendors, monsters, or looted. Most upgrade components require a certain amount of equipment to accept them and some even have cosmetic effects.

Certain upgrade components are reusable, but the majority will be destroyed if removed from upgraded equipment.
