Robots that auto vacuum and mop and mop provide the convenience of removing dry debris (dust dirt, grit) and wet mess (spills, staining) in one time without having to swap out devices. They can also reduce space compared to two separate units, especially in smaller living spaces.

The mops are spun at a high rate and employ 2.2 pounds (1kg of force) to remove dirt, pet hair and sticky dried spills. The vacuum cleaner comes with four power settings, as well as a selection of attachments and brushes and an intuitive app which lets you choose the type of cleaning you'd like for each room.

For instance, you can choose to have the robot clean up the living and kitchen areas but take it easy in the spare bedroom. The S1 Pro's front collision sensors and its smart navigation technology are also excellent, with the robot being able to detect tiny obstacles that other models struggle with. The only drawback is that it tends to hit objects and walls at full speed. However, a quick look at the history of cleaning in the app will show you precisely what the robot has done, where it is moving, and what obstacles he has run into or avoided.

The docking station has a handy LCD screen that shows the need for maintenance, such as emptying debris and rinsing the dirty water tank. It's also capable of mixing detergent automatically into the water tank by using a 600ml bottle filled with Eufy's own solution.

Both the S1 Pro mop and vacuum come with a long-running time. The mop can run for 184 minutes in Quiet Mode. The vacuum can run for 136 minutes in normal mode, prior to needing recharging or returning to the base. You can also view the full cleaning details in the app, which is clearly laid out and is easy to comprehend, though we would have liked to be able distinguish between a mop only vacuum and mop clean, when looking at a clean area in the history of cleaning.

2. Roborock S8 Pro Ultra

The Roborock S8 Pro Ultra, the most recent version of Roborock's top-of-the-line robot vacuum and mop is the newest version. The model of this year features an agitator that doubles as its mopping pad. This improves the cleaning capabilities of carpets with this model. The S8 Pro Ultra also has enhanced suction power, which allows it to remove small hairs and other particles that other robotic cleaners may overlook.

The Roborock model, like the other two models I tested is equipped with infrared and 3D obstacle avoidance technology to help it avoid obstacles such as furniture, walls and other obstacles. The S8 Pro Ultra goes one step further by incorporating dual cameras that can detect objects, determining whether they are walls or other surfaces. It will then automatically alter its path and Robots That Vacuum and Mop clean around them without missing a beat.

This is the most expensive of the three models I've reviewed, but it's also the most loaded with features. Its sleek, angular design is attractive and it has only three physical buttons that include the power button which can also restart cleaning; a mop-only switch that doubles as a child lock; and a home button to bring the robot back to its dock. The hinged lid opens to reveal a 350ml dustbin and 200ml of water tank. The water tank automatically empties and the bin automatically refills.

The only downside I found in this model was the VibraRise mop pads mount isn't removable. Although you can change the mopping cloth (if it's required) but it's a challenge to take off the mount itself for manual washing. I've found any plush carpet that the robot touches will come into contact with the rough Velcro like fastener on mounts, which could cause scratches.

The S8 Pro Ultra has a number of smart capabilities that include support for Google Home, Amazon Alexa and Siri. You can manage and set up these using the Roborock app that is also the home of its maps and advanced mopping settings. The app allows you to schedule cleanings, monitor the battery life and maintain your components. But you'll need to jump through a few hurdles to allow voice control with this model, which is a shame considering the performance of this model.

3. Dreame X40

The Dreame X40 is an industry-leading robot vacuum and mop that has incredible suction power, sophisticated mowing capabilities, and innovative features. Its intelligent design allows you to customize and efficiently clean while reducing time.

The X40 is the first robotic vacuum cleaner that can deliver 12,000 Pascals of cleaning power, which easily makes it one of the best alternatives available. This powerful vacuum can clear up pet hair as well as crumbs and other dry messes. It comes with a mop of high quality that cleans hard floors without using pads. In addition the X40 is extremely quiet during operation, only producing occasional squeaks of sound when switching modes or when completing self-maintenance tasks.

The X40 has a side brush that can be lifted and extended. This lets it reach into corners that are hard to reach and clean furniture that is curved like chairs and table legs. It also allows the robot cleaner with mop to access furniture that is low-profile which makes it a great option for smaller apartments and condos with tight spaces. The side brush also automatically lowers itself when it spots wet spots. This is a nice addition that helps the X40 avoid damaging floors with repeated back-andforth movements.

In contrast to other robots that are limited to one task, the X40 can mop and vacuum simultaneously. It can be programmed to only mop the hard floors and skip carpeted areas or reverse the process. It can be controlled by the Dreame App or Alexa, Siri, or Google Home to ensure smooth voice-controlled operation.

The app is easy to use and understand The X40 is equipped with many clever features that are simple to install. Users can program the X40 to clean at certain times. It is also possible to alter suction power, switch modes, view floor plans and maps and manage mopping setting. The X40 will also track its progress, and alert you when it's done.

The X40 is easy to maintain and has many features which make it a good choice for busy families. The docking station automatically empty the trash bin into a 3.2 L bin, cleans mop pads and refills them with clean water and a cleaning solution. It can also detect when the mop pad is overflowing and notify you before it overflows, reducing the need for manual maintenance.

4. L20 Ultra

The L20 Ultra robot mop is one of the most expensive models available on the market. However, it has a number of features that make it stand out. The mops are equipped with a new feature called Smart DuoScrub. It makes use of two mops with high-speed motors to scrub floors more thoroughly than the conventional method, and it has the highest suction power of 7,000Pa. This is more than the Roborock S8 Pro Ultra and Ecovacs Deebots T20 Omni. It can also vacuum up pet hair, dirt particles and robots That Vacuum and Mop remove spills and dirty spots.

The mops are also cleaned and dried inside the base station after every use. This is a great feature because it prevents mould and unpleasant odours from accumulating in storage. It also makes the mop system more efficient. This is a feature we've yet to see on other robot vacuums that mop vacuums and mop models and it could be a good way of keeping your home hygienic for longer.

There are many options, including the ability to schedule cleanings and change preferences. They can be set through the app or buttons that can be found on the device itself. The app is simple to use and has a lot of options for customising the cleaning routine. Additionally, there are many features that other robots don't have - such as the Clean Genius mode that automatically increases suction power when it detects dust particles, rather than using the manual setting.

The L20 Ultra is also one of the most elegant robots we've seen on market, with metallic and white colors that is elegant and stylish. It's a bit heavier at 4kg than the other robots listed on this list but it's not excessively heavy. It feels solid and well-built. Mopping is also well-designed and the double-rotating mop is great for hard floors and in corners. They can also extend to 2mm of baseboards thanks to the MopExtend feature, which is a nice feature.
