Item upgrading allows players to boost the gear score of an item upgrader mod up to 700, and then add an additional perk. Items can be upgraded by keeping them in inventory and heading to the kiln.

Certain items can be upp'd to increase their stats (like a perfectly made breakpoint armour that can be rolled to use in melee PvP) while other items, such as weapons don't change much post upgrade and thus aren't worth upgrading.

Weapons

Weapons can be upgraded to improve their numeric stats, such as damage to attack, crit chance as well as PvE and PvP damage. Weapons come with a flat-rate bonus that increases damage per second. In addition, many weapons have a set bonus that activates when three or more of the same weapon are present on a unit. The upgrade template of a weapon will display the new stats that it will gain upon upgrading, as well as the values of these stats.
