However unlike the i7+ or other top rated robots we tested the i3+ doesn't have obstacle-avoidance capabilities and therefore it could get stuck on things like socks or power cords, and it may have trouble in navigating through transitions between surfaces like from hardwood to rug.

iRobot suggests that you clear areas that the i3+ EVO will vacuum prior to when you use it, including putting away any clutter or toys it may come across. You should also keep the filters and dust bin free of dirt to prevent them from getting blocked. When the i3+'s internal bin is filled or the battery is low, it returns to its docking station and automatically empties its debris into the station's dust bin, and then continues cleaning the area where it left off. The i3+ EVO's batteries last for approximately an hour and a half continuous use, and it takes around three hours to fully recharge.

The iRobot Roomba i7+ is the top model in iRobot's flagship line and has the most up-to-date features. In our tests, the i7+ was more agile and faster than our top choice which was the eufy RoboVac G30, and it took large pieces of pet hair from all surfaces types, including carpeting. The main advantage it has over the Eufy is the self cleaning vacuum-emptying bin that eliminates the main sources of maintenance and lowers the cost of recurring maintenance.

We were also awestruck by the i7+'s compatibility Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant AI services which we used to instruct the robot to start, stop or pause its cleaning session and to move around the room, and even vacuum an area. Connecting the i7+ to these services was easy and easy with the iRobot Home app. Once connected, we were able to use the i7+'s voice commands, such as "Hey Alexa, vacuum the master bedroom."
