It's the only robotic hoovers vacuum/mop to score an exemplary 10/10 in our tests, thanks to a combination of high-tech sensors, including cameras, a structured lighting system and multiple lasers. The X40 Ultra was the only robot we tested that could refill and empty its basestation in a self-contained manner. It also boasted a suction of 12,000Pa and self-cleaning mop mops.

Like other iRobot models as well, the X40 is user-friendly, with an easy mobile app interface, and integration with Amazon Alexa, Apple HomeKit, and Google Assistant. The only issue is that the X40 is still a loud unit. This could be a problem in mornings before work, or at night when you are trying to fall asleep.

It's also quite expensive, though it's not as expensive as the Ecovacs X2 Omni or Roborock S8 MaxV Ultra both of which are similarly capable and better-looking. This is a dual-purpose vacuum that is very efficient however it's going to cost you more and make more noise.

4. iRobot Roomba L20 Ultra
