What is an Item Upgrader in Pokemon Go?

Costs

Upgrades come with some associated costs. The first is the cost of performing the upgrade. This cost depends on the new ilvl of the item and the number of perks it gains and is often expensive. Upgrades to higher levels (such as Explorer to Champion or Veteran to Heroic) can be expensive.

The other is the cost of materials required to upgrade. These are typically Power Dices (dropped from monsters 21+), Minerals and Erons or specific Mists Of Pandaria or Warlords of Draenor Quests. These items can be found in the inventory of an Upgrade Vendor.

It takes time to upgrade an item. It could take as long as 8 hours depending on the size of the upgrade. The base stats of the upgraded item are calculated based on the new ilvl and other properties. This calculation determines the new Armor Class bonus, damage dice, and other crucial stats. In some cases the upgrade can grant additional perks that can be selected from a list of benefits.

In rare cases the upgrade will only replace the most expensive bonuses. The upgrader can also make other adjustments to the item, such as changing its weapon damage type, or adding or eliminating an operational or unwieldy function. These modifications are based on an item level upgrade's ilvl. They may also require special materials, for instance Adamantine.

Success Rate

The upgrade of an item is based on chance. Like any random system there is a chance that it won't succeed. However there are a few factors that can help to increase the chances of success. These include the use of an item dubbed an Upgrade Pity, or the addition of additional components to the upgrade.

An Upgrade Pity is an item you can buy from the smithing NPC in Lost Ark. It increases the odds of an upgrade being successful by some percentage. It is similar to the luck bonus some items have, but is more solid. It can be added to any armor or weapon, and can be used up to three times.

You can also add other materials to the upgrade item to increase the chances of success. These are displayed in a window that is above the + button. There are a few limitations. The maximum amount of material you can add is shown directly above the + button.

A Blacksmith Blessing, or an upgraded version can be used to increase the odds of a successful upgrade. This Best item upgrader is helpful when you own a weapon or piece of gear that has reached the maximum level for its tier or is close to it. This item allows you to upgrade the equipment to the next tier without the risk of it breaking.

If an upgrade fails it will be returned to its original state. This is often a downgrade, but could also be an upgrade. Keep an upgrade in reserve until you're close to the highest level for an item.

Failure Rate

The item upgrader allows players to add an additional slot on their equipment. These slots can be used to apply an enchantment or Best item upgrader upgrade an item.
