Robots That Vacuum and Mop

Robots that mop and vacuum offer the convenience of removing dry debris (dust, dirt) and wet messes (spills or staining) in one go without the need to change devices. They can also save space in comparison to two separate units, especially in smaller living spaces.

A good combination bot will provide excellent navigation and obstacle avoidance. Look for models that have docks that let them automatically empty their bins, refill their water tanks and machine-wash the mopping pads.

1. Eufy S1 Pro

It has plenty to offer at a modest price, and it's one of the easiest robots we've tested to set up. Unpacking is easy and the quick-start manual can get you up and running in no time. It comes with an entire dust bag, water tank and a hard floor solution.

The S1 Pro is a powerful little machine that mops up a storm and also vacuums well. The mops spin at fast speeds and can apply 2.2 pounds (1kg) of force, making short work of pet hair, dirt and dried sticky spills. The vacuum comes with four power modes, a range of brushes and attachments and an intuitive app that lets you choose the kind of cleaning you'd like for each room.

For instance, you can request the robot to clean the kitchen and the living room thoroughly but leave the bedroom to itself. The S1 Pro's front collision sensors and smart navigation tech are also excellent, with the robot being capable of detecting tiny obstacles that other models struggle with. Its only drawback is that it tends to smash into walls and other objects at a high speed, but a quick glance at the cleaning history in the app tells you exactly what it's doing and where it's headed and the obstacles it's avoided.

A convenient LCD screen on the docking station tells you when maintenance jobs are required including emptying the debris tray and cleaning the dirty water tank. It is also able to mix detergent into the water tank automatically, using a 600ml eufy solution.

Both the S1 Pro vacuum and mop are able to run for a long time as well, with the mop being able to operate for 184 minutes in Quiet mode and the vacuum capable of running for 136 minutes in normal mode before needing to recharge or return to the base to replenish. And you can see the entire cleaning information in the app, which is well laid out and easy to understand although we would like to be able distinguish between a vacuum and mop and vacuum clean when looking at a clean area in the cleaning history.

2. Roborock S8 Pro Ultra

The Roborock S8 Pro Ultra is the latest version of the company's top robot hoover vacuum and mop. The model this year has two agitators built into its mopping pad. This increases the cleaning capabilities of carpets with this model. The S8 Pro Ultra has an improved suction capacity which allows it to pull up smaller hairs and other particles other robotic cleaners may miss.

Like the other two Roborock models I've tried the S8 Pro Ultra has a reactive 3D obstacle avoidance and infrared technology that can help it avoid furniture, walls and other obstacles. But the S8 Pro Ultra takes things a step further by adding a dual camera which can detect objects and decide whether they are an object that is a wall or a different surface. It is able to change its path in a way that is best automatic vacuum and mop and clean around them, without missing a step.

It's the most expensive model I've tested and it comes with the most features. Its sleek, angular design is striking and has just three physical buttons which include the power button that also resumes cleaning; a mop-only button that doubles as a child lock; and a home button that can return the robot to its dock. Lifting the hinged lid, you will find 350ml of dust bin and Robot Vacuum Cleaner 200ml water tank. The water tank automatically emptys and the bin automatically refills.

The only drawback I could find with this model was that the VibraRise mop pads mount is not removable. While you can replace the mopping cloth (if needed) but it's a challenge to remove the mount for manual washing. I've observed that any carpet that the robot touches will come into contact with the rough Velcro like fastener system on mounts, which could cause abrasions.

The S8 Pro Ultra is equipped with a variety of clever features including support for Google Home and Amazon Alexa. You can set up and manage these through the Roborock app, which is also the home of its maps and advanced mopping settings. The app also allows you to schedule cleanings and monitor the battery life and robot vacuum cleaner maintain your components. However, you'll have to go through a few hoops to enable voice control on this model which is a pity considering the performance of this model.

3. Dreame X40

The Dreame X40 robot vacuum and mop is a market leader with innovative features, superior suction power, and advanced mowing abilities. Its clever design permits customised and efficient cleaning while saving you time.

The X40 robot vacuum cleaner is the first one to provide 12,000 Pascals cleaning power. It is one of the most powerful options available. This powerful vacuum can clean up pet hair as well as crumbs and other dry messes. It comes with a mop of high quality that cleans hard floors without the need for pads. Additionally, the X40 is extremely quiet during its operation, with only occasional squeaks of sound when switching between modes or performing self-maintenance tasks.

Another noteworthy feature is the X40's extendable and liftable side brush which allows it to get into difficult-to-access corners and clean curved furniture like table and chairs' legs. It also lets the robot vacuum cleaner reviews to access low-profile furniture, making it a great choice for small apartments and condos with tight spaces. The side brush also automatically swivels downwards when it detects wet spots. This is a nice touch that helps the X40 avoid damaging floors with repeated back-andforth movements.

Unlike other robots, which are limited to a single task, the X40 can mop and vacuum at the same time. It can be programmed to only mop the hard floors and not skip carpeted areas or reverse the process. It can be controlled through the Dreame app or via Alexa, Siri, and Google Home to ensure a smooth voice-controlled operation.

The app is intuitive and user-friendly, and the X40's smart features are easy to install. Users can program the X40 for cleaning at specific times. It is also possible to alter suction power, switch modes, view floor plans and maps, and control mopping settings. The X40 will also monitor its progress and notify you when it is finished.

The X40 is easy to maintain and has many convenient features that make it an excellent option for busy families. The docking station automatically empty the dustbin into a large 3.2 L bin, washes the mop pads, and refills them with clean water and cleaning solution. It can also detect when the mop pad is filled and notify you when it gets overflowing, reducing the need for manual maintenance.

4. L20 Ultra

The L20 Ultra is a high-end robot that's among the most expensive available and comes with numerous additional features that make it stand out. Its mops have a new feature called Smart DuoScrub that utilizes two mops that are high-speed to scrub floors more thoroughly than the traditional method, and it has a high maximum suction power of 7,000Pa. This is much higher than that of the Roborock S8 Pro Ultra or Ecovacs Deebot T20 Omni and can best automatic vacuum cleaner up pet hair and other small dirt particles in addition to removing spills and wet spots.

Its mops are also dried and cleaned inside the base station after each use. This is a great feature as it stops the build-up of odours and mould in storage, and also makes mop systems more efficient. This is an option we haven't seen on other best robot hoover mop or vacuum models. It could be a great method to keep your home clean longer.

There are a lot of options, including the option to schedule cleaning times and adjust preferences. These settings can be adjusted via the app or direct buttons on the device itself. The app is simple to use and provides a variety of options for customising the cleaning routine. Additionally, there are many functions that other robots don't have - such as the Clean Genius mode that automatically boosts suction power when it detects dust particles, rather than using an individual setting.

The L20 Ultra is also one of the most fashionable robots we've seen on the market, with metallic and white colors that looks classy and sophisticated. It is a little heavier at 4kg than the other robots listed on this list but it's not too heavy. It feels solid and well-constructed. The mopping system is well-designed, and the double rotating mop is a great choice for hard floors or in corners. They can also extend to 2mm of baseboards thanks to the MopExtend feature, which is a nice addition.
