The best robot hoover can clean and mop without requiring your attention, and leaves your floors spotless. Its low cost and high-end features (such as dirt detection) are great features.

Like other premium iRobots (including the most powerful model) they employ smart mapping to create detailed floor plans and eliminate household obstacles like cords and furniture legs. The robots also feature Carpet Boost, a feature that boosts its power when it senses dirt on the carpet.

Both the Q5 and the Q7 Max Series get very good scores in our bare floor tests They're also particularly adept in cleaning pet hair. There are some issues however, which prevent them from being our first choice. One of the flaws of the Q5 is that its navigation system does not feature AI-powered obstacles avoidance. It's therefore prone to get stuck on socks and shoes and could not navigate rooms with lots of people well in our tests. It also doesn't have a camera that can see around corners.

Still, it's very good for those who want to save money on an iRobot Roomba and you have a bare-floored home or best robot hoover office. It's also very quiet and can be used when you're at work or at school. The only thing it doesn't have that you can't find in the more expensive iRobot Roomba X30 is edge-to-edge vacuuming on floors that aren't clean. It's also less effective at mopping, using disposable wet wipes, which don't stick on well and aren't able to handle dried-on debris. The Q5 does come with self-emptying docks, however. If you're in need of it mop, the mopping pad can be replaced with an awe-inspiring one in a matter of seconds.

2. iRobot Roomba X30

The iRobot Roomba X30 packs impressive mopping and vacuuming into a compact, sleek package. Its agile navigation and intelligent cleaning maps make it easy to clean and effective at tackling larger particles like pet hair. It also comes with strong suction and self-emptying bin. It's the best robot hoover for carpets, however it falls behind some competitors in terms of deep cleaning.

This highly efficient mop and vacuum combination utilizes advanced sensors to avoid obstacles and pet waste, and it learns your home's layout over time for more efficient cleaning. The app lets you customize zones and change the cleaning schedule. It has a battery life that is similar to other models.

If the X30 Ultra is in a carpeted space, you can tell it to remove and extend its mops. This can help avoid cross-contamination. Its flex arm is great for getting under furniture that is low and along baseboards. However, it's not equipped with the same level of washboard performance as our other Editors' Choice picks, the Ecovacs Deebot Ozmo N8 Professional+ and the iRobot Combo j9+.

In the course of testing, X30 Ultra was the most efficient robot vacuum/mop which could sweep the entire house and had 66 percent of its battery remaining. It did a good cleaning job on various flooring and rooms with different flooring types, including some area carpets. Its obstacle detection was top-of-the-line, and it nimbly avoided fake dog socks, turds, and bundles of cables.

It's a bit more expensive than the iRobot Combo v9+ and iRobot Roomba j9+, however, it comes with superior suction, a dustbin on board that automatically empties into its base, and also supports voice commands via Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. It can clean the floor even after it vacuums. This is something we haven't seen in other robotic vacuum/mop combinations.

3. Roomba X40 from iRobot

This mop and vacuum combination has a sleek, circular design that appears much like a Roomba model than the boxy units of the rivals. It is one of our most attractive looking robot vacuums. The newest model from iRobot is among the most intelligent, with advanced features including enhanced dirt detection technology and future compatibility with Matter (another company's robot that can wash its own mop pads).

It's also the only robotic vacuum/mop that scored the perfect 10/10 out of 10 in our evaluations. This is thanks to the combination of high-tech sensors, including a structured light system, a camera and multiple lasers. The X40 Ultra is also the only robot in our tests that can completely self-refill and empty its base station, and boasts an its own self-cleaning mop pads.

The X40 as with other iRobot products, is easy to use. It comes with a simple mobile application interface and is compatible with Amazon Alexa and Apple HomeKit. The only issue is that the X40 still a loud unit. This could be a problem in mornings before work, or in the evening when you're trying to fall asleep.

It's also quite expensive but not as much as the Ecovacs MaxV Ultra or Roborock S8 Omni, which are equally impressive and attractive. If you're willing to put up with a bit more noise and some additional cost it's a capable two-in-one that should delight most.

iRobot L20 Ultra

The L20 Ultra is the top-of-the high-end robot mop and vacuum mop cleaner robot. It has a range of advanced features that will make you forget about your chores. Like Ecovacs' range-topping X2 Omni and Roborock's S8 Pro Ultra, the L20 is designed to be a hands-free cleaning machine that can take the care of mopping and vacuuming, with a multi-function dock that automatically empties the vacuum's dustbin, refills its water tank, washes and dry the mop pads.

The smart robot makes use of LIDAR and structured lighting to map out floor plans and detect obstacles. It navigates more intelligently than its top competitors. It also has a camera mounted on the front for real-time detection of hazards but this was not reliable in our tests and was occasionally confused by power cords or other obstructions.

The vacuum cleaner comes with a maximum suction of 7,000 Pascals which is more than enough to complete the task. It also has "Intelligent Dirt Detection", that regulates the amount of time the vacuum works and also alters the frequency of cleaning for different areas of your home in accordance with the amount of dirt they are.

If you have a larger home, it is worth choosing a model that has zones or spot cleaning modes. This lets you inform the robot of which area of your home must be cleaned with the help of an app or voice control. A stair mode can be useful if you have a number of furniture. Additionally, a recharge and resume feature that lets your robot vacuum take over exactly where it left off is ideal for busy families.

5. iRobot Roomba RX3

The RX3 is a more efficient cleaner than you'd imagine from its price. It is a great job cleaning, removing 55% of the debris we found in our tests (it was second only to the Roomba Q5 Pro). It also mops using a single pad and a reciprocating movement that cleans better that most mop cleaners for robots that we've examined. It's self-sufficient too, with a fully-featured app as well as an auto-emptying, washable base.

The iRobot application is designed to guide you through the mapping process that collects data on your floorplan and any "no go" areas that you've marked on the map. You can use it to create cleaning schedules, set up an area for cleaning or to sort out your rooms with the most dirt to improve performance. The app comes with a variety of features, including seasonal suggestions, custom mapping, and advanced cleaning settings.

It can also reach corners and under furniture better because its shape is more rectangular. It has an impressive 8,000 Pascal suction as well as intelligent combs to remove pet hair. It also has the ability to set up a spot cleaning that thoroughly cleans a particular area.

The Miele Scout RX3 Home Vision HD offers a sleeker, cheaper alternative to iRobot Roomba. It is more appealing in its design, akin to Dolce & Gabbana. The twin cameras are designed like adorable eyes. It is great at vacuuming, but it is more likely to get caught in low thresholds. It is also noisier than other top robot vacuum cleaner vacuums we've tested. It also has an app that's not as intuitive and a small base station that doesn't double as a bin to empty.
